Staredit Network

Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> why do they attack eachother?

the human players attack eachother why???....see my map. After a while units will be created at the lower left of the map.

I've tried the set alliance trigger, and the humans are is the same force.

I just saw player 1 triggers n some have "Create 1 Firebat for player 2" n when player 2 isnt there it will create the firebat for computer n that computer attacks everyone.

Also, that trigger's Player settings is for P1 through P4. This will cause it to be run one time for every player in the game, or up to 4 times total. Instead change it to separate triggers, the first one being:

P: P1
C: Cur. Player brings at least 1 any unit to "jim raynor"
A: Set Switch/Deaths/whatever, just make sure it does something

P: P2
C: Modify to fulfill the Action from last trigger
A: Create 3 Firebats, 1 SCV, 1 Dropship for Cur. Player at "dropship p2" for Cur. Player
A: AI scripts

Repeat this last trigger, modify to fit P3 and P4

what do you mean with not there? I mean ive placed a start loc for player 2 (and the rest). So i how do i solve this

It means player 2 didnt join the game...(2nd slot is open)

yeah that whole dropshiptrigger, i just fiddled around with that, but ill try it thnx:) But it doesnt effect humans attacking eachother or does it?

2nd slot is open soooo now what? I have to eeuhm LAN between my pc and laptop to make player2(laptop) join? tongue.gif And also when i preplace units for players 2 till 4 they dont even show up when i start my map.

If you create units for a player who is not there, the units will appear, but set on Enemy with everyone else. This will not happen if you change the Player part of the trigger to that player. Think of the Player section of the triggers as a condition: If that player is there, the trigger will run.

E.g.: assuming P1 and P2 are in Force1

P: Force1
C: Always
A: Create 1 Dude for Current Player at Blah

This will only run for P1 if P1 is present, and run for P2 if P2 is present (creation for P1 does not affect creation for P2), whereas

P: Force1
C: Always
A: Create 1 Dude for P1 at Blah

will run one time for each player present in Force1, and create 1 Dude for P1 regardless of if the P1 slot is filled by a player. Lastly,

P: Force1
C: Always
A: Create 1 Dude for Force1 at Blah

will run one time for each player present in Force1, but create 1 Dude only for slots that are filled by a player.

They dont show up because players 2-4 isnt in the game, u tested it urself which means only player 1 will show

ok i read it and tested it...and your right.

-the second method i tried and it wouldnt create any units at all. (Fred's first method)

But i have to get player 2 till in the game to make it work, fill the slot. Aint it filled??? confused.gif Obviously not, so how do u fill it? I feel this is very easy to do hmm

if thats the only way to test if the triggers for p2 till p4 works....hmmpf. Can i just make one these p's a computer for testing? Would that make any difference? if then later i switch it back to a human player?

if u want to test ur map whit comps u have to use Set Allied Status bcos comp will always be Enemy
