Staredit Network -> Modding Assistance -> downgrading sc version

Now that Blizzard released the new patch that renders Memgraft 1.12b obsolete, how does one go about downgrading their version of Starcraft. I wouldn't worry about it if a Memgraft patch was going to come out, but I read on the forum that he stopped making patches. sad.gif

1. Download stand alone patchs for 1.09 and 1.12b.
2. Delete the current patch_rt.mpq in your starcraft folder.
3. Run patch 1.09 then 1.12b.

Or move the existing folder to a new directory, and reinstall Starcraft, and then upgrade it to whatever patch you want, and depending on what version you want name that directory Starcraft.

OR you can make a separate directory for the 3 essential files that each patch modifies (patch_rt.mpq, storm.dll and starcraft.exe) and copy them to the main directory in the case you're in need of a particular patch.
That's how I do - I've got 6 folders for different patches....smile.gif

Some patches blizzard has recompiled Starcraft.exe, so things are different.
You have to find the old patch and find where the version byte is (I believe I may have found it, but I am unsure) and change that to the current one. It will think you are on the recent version of Starcraft, so it should run normally. Once I finish this research I will make a tutorial. smile.gif
