Report, edit, etc...Posted by Yoshi da Sniper on 2005-08-24 at 04:11:35
Changes from 0.5.5:

Bugs
* Minimap now updates when undoing / redoing unit owner changes and unit movement.
* Doodads occasionaly were being set as active without this being possible. (-> staredit/SCXE crash)
* Removed read only checkbox when opening maps (wasn't supposed to be there)
* Upgrade limit now properly set to 1 for upgrades with only 1 level.
* Brush unit updates player color (Goliath and tank turrets weren't changing)
* Sprite flags now can be unset
* Some shortcuts weren't always registering, now all work.
* Was allowing maps with more than 64 locations to be saved as Vanilla maps, fixed.
* Bug causing dropdown of save dialog to not properly be filtered fixed
* Also fixed bug with SCM / SCX maps

Features
* Copy / Cut / Paste units
* Copy / Cut / Paste doodads
* Copy / Cut / Paste sprites
* Copy / Cut / Paste terrain
* Multilayer Copy / Cut / Paste
* Ctrl click to select current terrain type (Also jumps to selected tile in tileset indexed mode)
* Display of areas where minerals / start locations are not allowed
* Mineral type randomizer
* Added second grid layer
* Added grid to tileset indexed window

Interesting and awesome things for this version. Looks like we finally have copy & paste in, a feature we've begging for about for a while, and SI did an extremely good job with it. Personally, I'm raving how easy it is to do these things and how it was integrated into the program.

What next? We're still bugging SI about terrain brushes and array placement.

I dont know if you guys know of this but I alrdy found a problem, when I select the science vessel and go to set the Units to Snap to grid the program crashes, i'd send yea the diagnostic file but i cant find it...

More info of this crash:

256x256 Twilight Dirt terrain...yup that about sums it up. Either way nice work.

ADDITION:
Actually it does that with all units...

Anyone else? I'm not able to recreate this. Also check the custom grid box and tell me what it is set to, you may need to reset the values.

Just a question but sometimes in the older version when you changed the unit player after the unit is placed it would not read that unit as being owned by the player it is when you use the preview fog layer...

So... Is this copy and paste terrain like SF Brushes?

easiest way is selecting all doodads, converting them to terrain, and reloading the map so they are converted to doodads.

So I could just open it up with starforge, save, and then open with SCXE, and after I am done, open with SCMDraft, and fix the doodads?

EDIT: Ok, it works now. Thank you for the help.

you just need scmdraft, select all, then right click -> convert to terrain, save map, close map, load map.

SI, i got the problem too, but SCM Draft saved it in a hidden folder I think because I tried doing a search and couldnt find it. Ill try making it easier to understand, take say a Terran Battlecruiser. Select it in the units mode and place 1 but dont let the placer go away. Now go up to the top and in the Units menu click units snap to grid and it will give the error.

AHHHHH.... Lol SI, but every time I download ANY of the SCM's, I can't open the censored.gif thing. I use winzip to open it, and then it tells me after I opened it that censored.gif up trigedit plugin can't be censored.gif -ing loaded. Sorry for all the angry smilies.

Now I will just give you time to answer this and dissappear... bye.gif

Ok, when I loaded SCMD2 I didn't want to make a new profile yet so I never set the grid or anything, the grid has no propertys selected so you have to check one of the propertys (Disabled, Fine, ect.) so it doesnt do that. Oh well, this just gives you another thing to check out I guess.

EDIT: Wrong quote... blink.gif
EDIT AGAIN: Maybe its not...(Just woke up...)

Open the custom grid window and change the spacing from 0. When I added the second grid layer it doesn't properly load the old settings.

Make sure you keep the plugin in the plugins directory and dont put it in the base scmdraft directory.
