Staredit Network -> Music & Sound -> Tupac's Legacy
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SiLeNT(U) on 2005-08-25 at 02:28:33
Well, yesterday I was watching this biography of Tupac and I realized how great his legacy is, in the short time he was rapping, he affected so many people with his incredible lyrics and overall music. His mysterious, unsolved death seems to even fit his legendary status. Post your opinions on his legacy, before and after his death. Please don't post rants about how you hate rappers and blam like that, if that happens, I will be forced to lock the topic to avoid a spam war.

and

are some pretty good sites for info about pac.

He was a good rapper, but I don't think he was a 'legacy.'

Tupac was the only good rapper there ever was. He came from blam and rapped about his life to get where he did. Every word he rapped was real because he experianced it.

And like these rappers today rapping about fly :censored:es and and krystal popping and VIP in the club. Its not rap its senseless noise. Tupac rapped about howto change the world for the better in a realistic way. Shame he went out the way he did.

I still don't believe he's dead after releasing (i think) 2 albums after death which arent compilations ohmy.gif

[center]Tupac was a word smith, If you had a discussion with him, you could come out of it knowing that the sky is orange. He knew the beauty of life, an example from MTV; Tupac: "If I saw a rose growing out of the concrete, I wouldn't say 'Damn, look at all the scratches and marks on it...' I'd say 'DAMN! A rose grew from the concrete!?'"
In my eyes, he's right up there with Cobain. He's forever left his mark on music.

Maybe I'm dumb, but I don't understand how this quote proves anything.

Yay a Tupac thread.
Tupac was a great rapper, i personnaly don't believe he is dead.
QUOTE
Tupac's alias is Makaveli. Though the spelling is different, Machiavelli was a 16th century italian philosopher who advocated the staging of one's death in order to evade one's enemies and gain power. In Machiavelli's book Discourses Upon the First Ten Books of Titus Livy, in Book 2 Chapter XIII he says "a prince who wishes to achieve great things must learn to deceive". This is Machiavelli's main idea and is the connection between Tupac and the writings of Machiavelli

That(one of the facts, from a 32kb file i have)really makes me wonder. It would make alot of sence that he faked it 2 gain power (like says the quote above) which he did. He was very famous before his "death", but after it his record sales went up, people started calling him the best rapper ever, people would talk about a legacy he left
QUOTE
I realized how great his legacy is
therefore making it extremely beneficial.

I think he's dead, according to Compton police, he was killed by a southside crips member named Orlando Anderson. Apparently, Orlando was getting revenge for Tupac and his crew beating him up before the fight in Vegas.

Would he be such a legend if he were still alive today?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Oo.ZeALoT.oO on 2005-09-12 at 21:58:38
No probly not, therefore making a reason to fake his death.
Whatever its a very hard situation to debate.
Shouldnt this be moved into the music part of creative now?

T-Mastaa, didn't I clearly say "Please don't post rants about how you hate rappers and blam like that, if that happens, I will be forced to lock the topic to avoid a spam war." I'm trying to keep this from turning into a flame war, if you don't like rap, then don't post in this thread.

Ok, and rock is simply overamped guitar riffs and old guys or screamo's.

The fact is, every type of music has people that like/dislike it and songs that are good/bad. I for one like rap more than many other genres.
One point that I would like to bring up is the fact that the Notorious B.I.G. made more of an impact when he died. Tupac and Biggie Smalls were good, but they are remembered by there deaths. Martyrdom is a powerful thing.

I didn't read any of the posts above so my post is completely unbiased and wasn't affected by the above posts. pinch.gif bleh.gif (nah, im just lazy)

People who go on "I hate rap" rants can have their own opinions. Just like you, and me. I dont hate rap, but I think its become kind of lazy and senseless. It used to have a message, like Tupac's songs. But, now its about "candy" shops and things that dont even make sense. I give it credit for being catchy and its not like I dont like it, its just kinda of senseless now.

Yeah maybe the rock you've heard but the actual rock takes way more skill and has way more of an impact. You know what screw rock. i dont lisen to rock. I lisen to thrash metal. Wich actualy takes skill. no one reading this will ever be able to do the stuff they do on guitar and drums even if they tryied their hole entire lives. Its not just 3 string riffs repeating over and over again and the singer singing about his ex girl friend.
P.S. Any one can rap....Its bullshi to say some one awsome at it.

And if its so easy make one yourself, and if you get as famous as Tupac was, then I might consider your statement.
"To become a good rapper you have to spend a lot of time throwing around lyrics that not only sound good together but also make a statement." - A friend of mine

I wouldn't pay 2ยข just to give my 2 cents on how bad that song was.

Which brings us back on topic...

Tupacs rap was better than simply putting rhyming words together.
