This is first piece of extended terrain I have ever made. I am planing a GTA map, I hope a lot better then all other GTA maps I have seen. And I is sure that I will need extended terrain buildings. I know that it has too much sprites but that was the only way to hide that damn asphalt from doodads. Please rate it.

[attachmentid=13294]

It is in 66% zoom.

A building usually is identicle all around closedeyes.gif
I like it. 7/10
Just try to change up some of the windows maybe? I dunno though, I think thats as good as that building gets.

High sprite limit, try cut down on them
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Corbo(MM) on 2005-08-26 at 16:45:37
yeah
too many sprites try using windows instead of that kind of wall you used because yours is bloacky i don't blame you try using windows it will look good check our our video tutorial by the legendary yoshi da sniper! if you don't want here is one i made Sprite count: 3 and all of them just for decoration
[attachmentid=13300]
[attachmentid=13301]

ADDITION:
by the way the rate i give it is 8/10 if we says that the massive use of sprites is ok
and what do u mean with GTA please say what i think it is ;D

not sure why, corbo, but thats pretty nice. sure, if you stare at it its blocky as wtf, but if you dont look too closely, it looks great lol.

Thanks for the high ratings biggrin.gif !

But I find these windows you made a little to blocky.

GTA I am planing(just planing) will be based on old school GTA1 and GTA2. Since I think that calling it GTA vc or GTA sa just because they are new doesn't make my map better. And I think that GTA2 is just great and best for SC map.

ADDITION:
I tried to DL video tutorial but it said that there is no such file thumbdown.gif .

lol what does GTA means.....nvm...
and yeah it is blocky but i mean blockyness with the windows looks like better than blockyness with the brush you used that's why u covered with sprites

thanks biggrin.gif

ADDITION:
omg if GTA means grand theft auto! what a **** yeah i thought of it i tried to work on one a while ago but all i did it was the car stealing system
have the map might be usefull
[attachmentid=13303]

i wonder why when i typed a word offending myself it just posted as "what a wonderfull friend"

Here is the same building without sprites(well it has 3 for decorations). I just don't like the asphalt that comes with doodads.

[attachmentid=13304]

And yes GTA means grand theft auto. I have seen few GTA maps on SEN and B.net... all crap puke.gif . So I am planing to make a good GTA. Thanks for the map I'll check it out right now biggrin.gif .

ADDITION:
Yea, the stealing system works cool. I like it tongue.gif . I was planing to use something similar but my command function is much better. I use small 3x3 location on map, put an SCV in middle on location and make a 1x1 location on SCV. The trigger shoots when P brings 0 SCV to location. By using this I can hotkey and click anywhere to run trigger.
Look

Well, basically yes. You can use this to run any type of trigger.

I have a suggestion for this: http://www.staredit.net/index.php?act=Atta...e=post&id=13305

Make the single terrain piece in the middle a high terrain piece, and the terrain around it low terrain. Uncheck high ground in the location, and use "player brings scv to location" in the conditions. This should run more smoothly than if you used "player brings 0 scv to location", because the ENTIRE SCV must be outside of the location, which takes longer for it to move. Either that, or you could make that location smaller.

Smaller than 1 square?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SuperToast on 2005-08-26 at 21:07:31
Yeah, like 1x1 pixel or something.

Any slight movement would cause the trigger to fire.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathknight on 2005-08-26 at 21:08:57
Locations are read in pixels, not tiles.

If part of the unit is in the location, no matter which part or how much of the unit is in the location, it will be read as in the location, and triggers will detect it.

i agree, and disagree, installation would make smoother buildings, but doesnt hav ashphault, unless you could use the trigger that let u move on null terrain

Ok I made a new one. I will most likely use this in my GTA if I will decide to make it. I think that it look great, but please rate it. Only 3 sprites, all for decoration. Only thing I can't make look good is the left/right side corner. So please suggest something for it.
