I know you guys have probably heard these wars on rock vs rap or something like that, but I would like to know you opinion on rock music and why you guys like it more than rap and if you like rap more than you like rock why do you like rap more.
My opinion on rock is great I love rock especailly Metal, for example Atreyu, As I Lay Dying, Trivium, A Perfect Murder, HIM, Pantera, the old Metallica, Slayer, Black Sabbath, and all those other great metal bands. Now to the point the reason I like rock more than rap is because in rock you actually sing and use instruments not like in rap. Rap is just drum beats repeated over and over and over again and these drum beats are created by some nerds on computers who don't get credit for what they have done, and rappers don't sing they talk fast now have you ever noticed that there is like 30 people in the back when there is a rap concert going on well those are those nerds im talking about, but thats just my opinion. Ok well your guys turn!

i like rock way more i mean it sounds better its not all about :censored:es and hoes and i appreciate it because its hard to play a guitar or the drums... the only rapper i like is eminem :no reason other than i like how he sounds ^_^

omfg i lik da fiddy cent cuz he uz brut forc n he tru amerikan hero like charzard. On a more serious note, it's all commercialized now, and as we all know, commercialized= BAD. It's not inventive anymore, just alot of hollow cliche, voice synthesizers and a bunch of wonderful friends in makeup whining about some break up with some girlfriend they never had, that was written by some songwriter who funnels all of their supposed "messages" while we're all shoveled the same blam over and over again and each day everyone dies inside alittle more. It's everyone trying too hard to appear as though their music is something while producing the same bland pop music without direction nor point. Concept albums are the best, because instead of being vague wanderings of sound there's actually something being said there.

See, i dont know what you mean by rock. now adays, people consider simple plan, blink 182 and sum41 to be rock. Rock all the sudden started to mean: If there is guitar being played by a member of the group/band, its rock. I hate all the new metal bullcrap thats on now adays. Im into the old school or should i say slighty older rock music ( cause i hate ac/dc, the beatles, led zeplin...) Im into the 80's rock. Metallica, megadeth, slayer, testament, pantera, overkill...I love the fast action on the guitars and the insaine guitar solos that make you go WOW 
! Plus rock concerts are the only type of concerts that are fun. With all the crowd surfing and mosh pits. I totaly agree with rap suckin n' all.. cause it does n' all....watch me rap: your a $lut, you take it in the butt, your dog is a mut, ima take my knife and cut...now watch me perform a guitar solo...wait a minute..i cant! why you ask? because it takes skill....

The rock i was talking about is not simple plan, blink 182, or all those other poser bands im talkign about some of the new stuff like Atreyu, From Autumn to Ashes, Trivium, As I Lay Dying, HIM, and all those other great ones, and beleive me I love some of the 80s metal like Pantera, Damage Plan, Slayer, etc..and yes rap does sux lol

I wouldn't say I favor rock over other genres, I just tend to hate it a lot less than everything else. Its fun to sing to. However, I really don't like Metallica or Slipknot or punk or emo. Pretty much everything else is okay.

I only like old school metallica. New school can suck my ballz0rz. How can you posibly think taking out guitar solos is a good thing?!?!? Eh hem... as far as I'm concerned, with few exceptions, music in the 80's ate balls. It's when EVERYTHING became pop music, when commercialized, hollow fronts of "bands" came into the music scene, and everything became "get one hit release it on a singles make an album with just filler and two pop songs, wait a few months until people get tired of three songs, make another band" repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat ad nausuem. 80's music was oft cookie cutter and formulaic, not unlike almost everything after. I listen to a pretty big range of music, but I don't like anything cookie cutter, since surely I've heard it before. The bands I listen to: The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Rammstein, Creedence Clearwater Revival (currently my favorite band), and Marilyn Manson. It's a fairly small list since these are the only bands that I've heard atleast one album's worth of songs from, there are others that I've heard one or two songs that I like: The Who, Yes, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Led Zeppelin, Johnny Cash, Kansas, Bob Dylan, and probably more that I just can't think of right now. My favorite type of album is a concept album, since I enjoy songs being about something (instead of just shallow pop songs to rake in money).

Personally I really started to listen to rock/metal when I was 11 thats when It caught my interest especailly Pantera, the old Metallica, Rammstein, Damage Plan, and Nirvana. Now I listen to metal all that sounds good. I've never really liked rap because I think it is not music, but I am a musician and I do play in a band, I play lead guitar/lead vocals, with 3 of my other college friends, like I was saying metal rock will always be apart of me and well rap I will never have interest in that stuff they call "music" because it is not and those of you who will probably get hurt please don't get all into this war on rock vs rap PLEASE.

Alpha, the rock you have listened to is those gay poser punk rock bands that talk about how they dumped their girlfriend or something, to tell you the truth you haven't even heard the music me and my friends listen to it has meaning and everything not some pathetic music with lyrics talking about how they get laid, or drunk/stoned or how they picked up some hoes on the streets every rapper talks about that crap....and don't go back arguing that they don't talk about that because you know they do
