NO WAY ITS GONA BE LIKE THE ONE I POMPEII cuz in the science channel i hear effect of this can happens for 10s of years.....let me explain
the volcano there is a super volcano so when it erupts its gona extreamly large dust clouds which can cover parts of the world and can change the world temperature which can cause sevear changes in the earth climate patterns and this is jus rly bad.....

scientists say that if yellow stone blows it could possibly destroy 80% of U.S. lands (or somewhere around that percent) which would effect the world in one way or another.

ya itll be bad. but who said its happening ny time soon?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by CheeZe on 2005-09-01 at 18:12:49
Because, according to studies, it's supposedly thousands of years late of the next eruption. Meaning, it's past it's time. It was suppose to blow a couple thousand years ago and it didn't. It could happen anytime.

i know bout that one killed like 90% of all life on earth. first the huge asteroid crashes in earth which cause and HUGE lava flow and that lava flows increase the earth by 5% and with that 5% some things in the ocean melts and get into the air which cause another 5% in temperature raise. all together it was a 10% raise which killed like 90% of all life on earth =/

ADDITION:
oh yea and i get all these information bout this stuff i nscience channel biggrin.gif its an awsome channel lol

Yeah, if/when that blows we in the USA are in it deep, the dust can block out the sun causing massive temp. changes and who knows what other effects. It could bury a section of the west coast under dust. Its not good ohmy.gif

Report, edit, etc...Posted by SacredElf on 2005-09-02 at 19:14:05

Ok. My opinion of what will happen is that the volcano will blow up, yes, but the world will recover. Dust clouds and ash clouds will form, the midwest will be blown out of existence, farming ruined for a couple years, perhaps.

The world always recovers, but there would, of course be a mass extiction.
