In all of the application submittion topics, people seem to be replying like its a regular thread saying how they're great and responding to people. I don't mind this, however in my first post I state:

QUOTE
DO NOT REPLY UNLESS YOU ARE SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. CREATE NEW TOPICS IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS ABOUT THIS POSITION. THANK YOU.

In other words, only make one reply to the topic, and only if its about you applying. If you ignore this, I'll ignore your application. Period.

What hapened to the Nominations thread. It died while I was posting in it, yes I'm not a selfish loser who doesn't want to hurt my chances by nominating other people.

I find it amazing on the number of applications PM'ed to me, although I said to reply in the topics I created. Incredible...

Yes. It's everyones fault that you can't listen to instructions.

You can still apply, but do it properly.

Like it would matter. All DLDB keeper have to do is check DLDB from time-to-time. I can do it twice a week. What more you actually need to know?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DT_Battlekruser on 2005-09-09 at 13:47:17
No, they have to comprehensively view files. For the average submission rate of 11 files semi-weekly, this would be a solo load of 30-50 minutes twice a week.

Comprehensively? Sorry DT but my dictionary doesn't find anything about it.

And it has nothing to do with...
*I have 4 posts per day...or
*I have been that long on SEN....
Then why I have to write it? And I usually spent more than 50 minutes on SEN everyday. And I already check files for MRS so it would be something similar.

Wow, what kind of creappy dictionary do you use?

com·pre·hen·sive Audio pronunciation of "comprehensively" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (kmpr-hnsv)
adj.

1. So large in scope or content as to include much: a comprehensive history of the revolution.
2. Marked by or showing extensive understanding: comprehensive knowledge.

n.

1. Examinations covering the entire field of major study, given in the final undergraduate or graduate year of college. Often used in the plural.
2. A preliminary layout showing all the elements planned for an advertisement.

compre·hensive·ly adv.
compre·hensive·ness n.

It means you can't just spend 2 minutes looking at the files.

Too many people long so much for a staff position because they only want the prestiege (honor). If I see one of my subordinates mass-approving un-looked-at files I won't rest until they're fired.

I kind a don't care about honor, more like DLDB. I just know that I have a lot free time, objective view at maps and I would like to help SEN.

I can't explain why it drives us to provide services like this for free. I've not earned a single penny from staying here, besides gaining knowledge and having a ton of fun.

Is it just me thinking too hard or was "reply to this topic with your account" actually mean don't reply as a guest? Theres a link to your profile just to the left of your post so i don't see the point of liking to it in the post.

Anyways I find alot of these applications humorous. Just like any other job you need to prove yourself over everyone else applying. You can't make an impression by going in and simply saying "I've got alot of free time and am pretty bored so i can do it".

If you do your very unlikely to get the job, on the other hand if you state in your DLDB application that you have always enjoyed starcraft and express your admiration of the growing database. Then inform people of an experiance that you have had similer to the job your applying too. Your much more likely to be considered. Employers look to see if the person is capable of doing the job before seeing if they have the time, It is normally assumed if you do not have the time to do the job then you won't apply. (that being the main reason i'm not applying)

I'll be mean and point out the ones i think are really bad.
QUOTE(UMS App)
I'll apply... I guess

Why me? Who knows... I'm just your common map maker, and I'm pretty good at keeping track of forums like so. Consider me if you wish.

Way too short doesn't show intrest in getting the possition espcially 'I'll apply... i guess"

QUOTE(UMS App)
I play ums too much...

Im on comp 30-50 hours a day... j/k 30-40 hours a week.

i have alot of experiance in ums mapping just havent taken the time to make a highly triggerful map... plus any map i make lags me comp pinch.gif still...

My home page is SEN but mostly every here has it tongue.gif

Reasons For Being on staff:

I have been on SEN Every Day for over a year i think it is now? i ono
I have never been recognized
I feel like a lump of crap to be honest
AND I WILL HAVE POWA AHAHAHAHAH devil.gif
now for some real reasons...
Umm...
Im Pretty helpful on qs in ums help...
I Can be VERY Helpful at times biggrin.gif
Im On Sen So Much So I Just Run Through The UMS Forums... ALOT
SEN Has been very helpful to me and id like to give some help back in return.
I h8 Hackers (Doesnt Every1?) Huh the disgust me disgust.gif

Things to Improve UMS Section

Hmm... Now Thats A Tricky Quesion And Requires Some Thinking...
I Would Add A Favorite Smilie Bar In The Smilies Bar
Oh And This One...
I Would Add Sections For Noob Questions And Pro Questions That Would Be Really Helpful Wouldn't it?

Tournies

Hmmm

4 tournie ideas...

1) Diplo Tournie
2) UMS Making Tournie
3) Terrain Contest - Hand Make Terrain Ideas Like Piccys And Stuff
4) Defence Tournie - Organize People Into Teams And Whichever Team Makes it Farthest Into The Map Without Losing Wins

1. Your homepage doesn't make a bit of differance, nither does the fact that his computer lags (unless he was applying for dldb)
2.'never been reconized and feels like crap' Major self confidence issue were not going to accept you because we pitty you.
3.Expresses that he is power hungry, I would turn him down for that line alone.
4.What does hating hackers have anything to do with it?
In his defense he list the second half as his 'real reasons'. However sarcastic jokes do not have a place in applications.

On his things to improve on, Favorate smileies is not specific to that section (and I find it pointless). Also the use of his own smileies makes it look unprofessinal.
Now the idea about the pro questions and noob questions is good inspite that I belive it wouldn't work at all. His tournament ideas are nice, if he actually carried things like a defence tournament i think that would be cool.

now here is a very good application: http://www.staredit.net/index.php?showtopi...ndpost&p=308279

I hadn't read it until now inspite of the fact that I've never noticed him before I think he is more qualified to be a leader than most other people who applied to the ums section. When you learn to take interveiws you learn to make your negitives your positive features. He does this well when he describes why he doesn't post much and isn't well known. (read point 2)

I find it funny how yoshi said something like "To apply just reply to this topic with your account"

Then everyone started replying with LINKS to their account closedeyes.gif

If I'm wrong and that's what you actually have to do then shoot me for being an idiot.

THe profile is right next to you.

A link never hurts. He didn't have to be so vague about it though. -_- All the other ones ask for an explanation with links. Bolt_Head, simply said, if he wanted us to reply in such a matter as a job interview or applying for the UMS section, wouldn't of he simply wrote it down in his reply?
