Staredit Network -> Concepts -> EUD Based Medkit

Would it be possible to make a EUD condition that once a Medic runs out of energy it dies? I think that would make a good medkit because you do not heal instantly (applying medical tools) and you wouldnt get infinite health from it because it would eventually die. Is this possible / any good?

I don't know, but Doodle77 says that it is possible, but only if the medic was the 1st 2nd or 3rd unit placed on the map.

The only questions I have are "Why" and "How"?

Probably possible, but you would need to know the exact unit number of the medic so you should have it move somewhere useless and given to something else so it won't have a different unit number, somewhat useful but probably more effective to create a medic then remove it X seconds later.

Instead of killing it, just move it to a different location and refill it's energy. That way you can use the same medic over and over again.

I think it would work... sly.gif

Yeah, because preplaced units' stats are a lot easier to detect.

It will work as long as you can be sure which LocalId the medic is. So you could just preplace it and move it away when done. That way the medic's LocalId isn't changing.

heh... and a p12 medic just standing there with a location over it that has condition: Bring to location = action: heal 10%, 30% 50% 70% 90% 100%, in that order with like a w/e wait u want isnt easier? O.o becuase with this medic idea, you can just make it hold position so it wont run to heal and wont run out of energy becuase it isnt healing, thus leaving the trigger to become useless. :/ and when u start flaming saying thatll just make u hurt more if u run off the trigger, no. becuase if you think about it, if you did medical application to ur self and just stuck a needle in you but didnt do anything, itll remain + itll hurt and maybe bleed unless you knew what u were doing and did it in full... am i right?

No idea what you said.

No clue either except for a few parts, the holding position thing I just realised that you could just give the medic to a comp that's allied to you, but personally, I still think the create medic then remove it X seconds later is easier. (Lots of weird things have happened and made me spend hours trying to get EUD conditions working properly again)

Cant you just move it away instead of removing it from the game. Once your medic's LocalId starts changing, this becomes very hard to trigger.

lol. I knew you wouldn't understand. I am just saying, a p12 medic that vanishes after the trigger is done firing, would be a hell of a lot easier to make, rather then calculating ECT (EUDC) and finding the unit #, or preplacing... heh.

Preplace and move. Uber-simple. LocalId deosn't change when you change owners of a unit.
