Staredit Network -> Modding Assistance -> Assigning a Transport wireframe to
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Voyager7456(MM) on 2005-09-11 at 09:37:44
I converted the Wraith Hero (Tom Kananksy) into a ground unit. It all works fine, except the wraith hero doesn't have a transportable wireframe assigned to it, so when it's loaded into a dropship, it takes up space but appears as blank space in the Dropship.

Is there any way to assign a transportable wireframe to a unit that doesn't have one?

Thanks in advance.

Of course it's possible. You need to alter the tranwire.grp and put in a BMP at the frame number exactly the same as the Tom Kazansky's unit ID. Remember about the RLE stuff and PSP of course.

Nope, didn't work. The reason why I had posted was because I had already checked the tranwire.grp and there was a wireframe at the 21st frame (Tom's unit ID is 21), the transport wireframe of a goliath. ermm.gif

The reason is show's up as a blank, Is because a flying unit is not meant to be loaded into a transport, So I guess Blizzard didn't bother to put a wirefram for it.

I don't think so, because this way the whole order of the wireframe GRPs would be messed up.
Oh, and by 'blank space' do you mean the BLANK wireframe or the lack of a wf?

If it says "BLANK" then there must be one for it (or one for all non-transportable units), or if it is blank (null, nothing, black, ...) then they are probably assigned to the unit.

ADDITION:
All three of the wireframe files are different amount of frames, there must be a script or a list that says what each one is. Unused units use the same wireframe that they used when they were not unused. BLizzard just replaced them so you get ones that are like a lurker wireframe, then in groupes are different.

Lack of a wireframe. It would be easy it was the BLANK one. sad.gif

I guess I'll look around and see if I can find a script or something. ermm.gif

Have you tried looking at the frames 20 and 22? Maybe the numbers don't quite concord because one numbering system starts from zero and another one starts from one or something.

I guess that would be too easy, BST. And he said that it is the lack of a wireframe, so it looks like if there is none assigned for it...what I find most strange, personally.... huh.gif

hmm... you should explain how to do that... can the wraith move and attack on ground? oh yeah if it says BLANK kinda like when it says aldaris.... then... yeah... keep searching most likely there is one.... even though I don't know why they would put it in there... wink.gif
