Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Unshare vision before game?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by lazyjoe21 on 2005-09-11 at 17:07:56
I am wondering if you can make players have unshared vision with themselves before the game has even started. Because in maps i have made it always takes about 5 seconds for the ai script to kick in even when im using hyper trigs... Is there a way to make this process faster? There are parts of the map i dont want the players to see.

I don't think it's possible.

Uhh.. No, triggers only work inside of the game... You can just make the units for a different player then give them to that player after they unvision themselves.

You could have their units only spawn after something that shows the script has run occurs.

just have the players screen center on a part of the map that they can see for rest of game or esle a null place for how long it takes for vision to go off, then create buildings, but ive played Beacon Defence b4 and i couldnt see my acadamy or science facility anywhere, but i could build ghosts, firebats and medics, hows that work

You can't stop you from sharing vision with yourself in the Forces window.

Just make it so that they command no units when the game starts. Then either give them the units later after vision has turned off or create the units after the vision is off. Thats about all i know to say...

Just preplace the units for computer players, and give them to the human players after running an unvision self trigger.

Because some maps are like that, take (U)Bolt_Head's House of the Haunted map for example, he makes you can't see your units in one part, but makes you see "Torches" so you can move about. (When you go to get your guns for those who don't understand, the little room where if you move in the dark, and stay there, you cannot get out)
