ok im almost sure this has been asked about before, but i did a search for it and got nothin. any way, i need more sprites for my map. is there any program that lets you put down unlimited amounts of them?
Scmdraft2 is good.
But remember, starcraft can put in a game more then the staredit max amount.
Scmdraft 2 can put almost infinite amount, but not all will be loaded.
I think max number is 1024.. not sure though.
U can check in the Staredit.net map limitations page.
Unlimited Sprites I don't think is possible, though you can have a very large amount of them.
If it was well not infinite but whos gonna need an infinite # of sprites?

Why does everyone always falsely think the sprite limit is 1024? It's so impossible, seeing that units use a sprite. It's 2048 (the in-game sprite limit)THE SPRITE LIMIT IS REALLY REALLY HIGH! HIGHER THEN 1700! GET THAT INTO YOUR HEADS PEOPLE!
But having too many messes up missle fireing units.
i thought u could only place like 250 sprites onto a map though

You can change the max sprites/units/briefings/triggers via starforge (or another staredit program)
That doesn't do anything really. SC still won't be able to load anything higher than 1024.

If you use starforge you can just go to options and change the max number of sprites allowed. The options menu is on tools.
having alot of sprites makes a hella big download. u might wana reconsider.

Err, not in the slightest. Placing raw sprites cant use more than a byte or two each. The only thing that can really drive up a map size is sounds.ok ur right about sf but, i can't read the ones above 255 on scmdraft

On Scmdraft2 create a new account and edit it, there will be options and you can put the sprite limit at 9,999.
o i know what ur talkin about lol found it. it's under options then master settings and it's right there

if you read the whole thread you would see that you can't have 9,999 sprites on a map. starcraft won't load them in the game.
