helpsmilie.gif i'm a newbie to in hex editing, so i've got a couple of questions: 1) i have the spec sheet for a .chk file, but all the normal scenario files are in .scm or .scx. when i convert them to .chk and make my changes, i cant reopen them as a .chk, and i dont kno how to change them back to a .scm or .scx. do i have to get a spec sheet for the .scm or .scx files? 2) one of the main purposes i had in mind when i started to learn hex-edit was to be able to crack protected maps wink.gif. im not a noob to sc; i dont want to rig them. i want to look at them (and in one case, i guy accidentally protected his only copy of a map: check out 'WosBeta' on this very site, under the downloads wink.gif, so i wanna help him) and see how they work (cuz, if u guessed, im a map maker smile.gif 3) i got the program 'Hex Workshop v4.2' and its only a demo, good for 35 days. is there a better program that i can buy, or can i buy that 1 offline (cuz i dont wanna buy ne thing over the net). plz help me if u can answer these questions! (including, but not limited to, King Arthur of camsys!) thx a ton!

People stop reading right there. SEN doesn't approve of map unprotection. And there are ways for PCFredZ to get his map open if he wants to.

(I forgot to add this again [my original post died when the server went down]: If you want to view someone's triggers in a protected map, you can always use Trigger Viewer, which is available in our DLDB.)

Maps are protected for a reason, also as Voyager said there are a few programs out there to help you view triggers and such without actually unprotecting it. (Trigger Viewer)
