There was a unanimous vote for yes for map ratings/reviews. The ratings/reviews of maps will now be in effect.

Maps will be rated using this guidelines.

Terrain - /20

The terrain of your map will be rated depending on the type of map. For example, if you made a defense map, it wouldn't make much sense to rate it low because of the lack of naturality in your terrain, and the same goes for RPGs and that sort of thing. This is out of 10.

Trigger Complexity/Efficiency - /20

The triggers of your map are obviously very important. The complexity of your triggers will be rated out of ten. However, you must also be trigger efficent to recieve a high rating. It would be a real waste of space and size to have a complicated, 10 trigger system when it would have been possible to do this with two or three triggers. Your triggers should also have a positive impact on gameplay.

Originality/Creativity - /20

This is very straight forward, but also quite a big part of your rating. It's good to have an original and creative theme to your map.

Gameplay - /10

This is also very straight forward. You want your map to have easy configurations and easy to understand. A bad example of this would be my very own crossfires map. It was quite hard to understand.

Entertainment - /30

Most people don't remember this but the point of map making is for the map maker, and the map player's enjoyment. How entertaining your map is should be a very big part of your rating, and it is.

Extra Credit - /10

Anything extra, or anything beyond the expectations of the preceding categories will be awarded with extra credit. This could also be known as "bonus" marks.

This leads to a total of /100 which will be converted easily into a %.

Expectations:
With each rank we have, we have a certain amount of expectations for your map.

C1 Elite: 85 +

C2 Professionals: 75 +

C3 Regulars : 60 +

C4 Starters : 50 +

If you receive multiple ratings that are lower than your expectations, it may result in a demotion. However, if you receive ratings that are higher than your expectations it will definitely result in a promotion.

This system will also apply to recruiters during try-outs. A person trying out should recieve at least a 50 + rating.

well lets see..... i cant be demoted or promoted.
but lets start of with my map but its a demo. so dont be all crazy.

ADDITION:
Spirit Defence Ratings: 75

Terrain: 10
there isnt any cliffs or anything realistic. but the coloring and wording are cool.

Triggers: 15
good trigger that creates units but doesnt have the warning flashing.
fast and smooth.
mainly everything for a defence.

Originality: 10
by the name of the map, i dont see its that spiritual.

Gameplay: 10
easy to understand and easy enough for a noob to play without any complaints, but its still fun.

Entertainment: 20
you can sit back and relax every round since you dont have to be all serious.
no music for every round or even for just the whole game.

Extra Credit: 10
word stacking on units.
putting clan credits in map.
good briefing.
no possible way to cheat.

i have an idea, whn ur done rating the map, u can put the rating next to the map in the official maps thread

i also dont neccessarily believe i shouldve gotten that low of a grade, i think u should average both of the leaders grades to make it one final grade to make it fair

Sniper's Rating

Jmoney Defense

Terrain:8/15

Fades and everything are cool. But they are shiny as hell in-game, very distracting. There's also a definite sprite overload in this, contributed to the shininess and confusion. 8.

Trigger Complexity/Efficiency: 14/15

Like minigame said, fast, smooth, pretty sure its bug-free. The triggers are efficent but nothing really special to it. Basic defense making triggers, a few things special such as the banning system. I like it, you could tell who is after you =).

Originality: 12/20

Its just a defense, but there are also a few twists. Deserves two more points than minigame =).

Gameplay: 10/10

Easy to understand. Leave it at that. I would take points off for the shininess but thats already going down on your terrain.

Entertainment: 22/30

I like to go 2 points up on minigame biggrin.gif. I had fun, not as much fun as tower defense or Uberena, but still good enough to keep my attention. Hard indeed.

Extra Credit: 2/10

The banning thing. Loved that. It removed the guilt part of banning =)

Total : 60%

You could do better. Lay down on the sprites and flashiness. Making things not so cramp is always a good idea.

I'd prefer if the talking keeps to a minimal because this is where the ratings will be placed(besides the overall rating in our dldb).

I mark hard jmoney. Always will. Please don't take your rating as a put down, use it to improve upon yourself. Everyone gets the low rating once in a while.

ADDITION:
The thing is we can't review our own maps. Meaning we can't average them out. IF you want you can average them both yourself, but we will post our ratings sepereately.

A change in the system. Trigger and Terrain are now out of 20. So minigame factor the scores you gave to jmoney for those categories.

This means extra credits really MEAN extra credits, maximum score of 110%

hehe, thanks for the review on my Squad Wars.

Think you could review Micro later?

Ive done alot more stuff which it SHOULD rival or even possible be better than Squad Wars. Right now its in its beta testing stages so all i need to do is find the last of the bugs. Shouldnt take long, ill post it up when its done. Think you could review that too?
