Hey every one! Here is map that I might finish. Its tetris! Im going to try and make it exactly like the original (music, level up, score...) so far I only have terrain done but it should be killer once im done. Im still trying to figure out some triggers but right now, the number of triggers expected is around 1,100+. Number of locations used so far is 172. I cant really post screenshots because not too much has been completed but it should be done (If its going to be done) by the end of this week. If you have any tips or tricks to help me with making the blocks fall, it would be greatly appreciated.

how are you going to make it so it's like the real tetris, i mean with the blocks n blam biggrin.gif, or actually making it able to go in evenly? =\

Red2Blue started a Tetris map awhile back. You may want to ask him for help because his method for placing the blocks and spinning them was pretty awesome (remember the system we used on our War of the Clans map?). But I'd say that using a grid like his for the falling blocks would be best.

Blizzard also made a Tetris map, it's somewhere on their map site I assume.. Perhaps you could look at their maps for the turning? It's a DAMN simple game, but the triggers for way too complex for me to understand. I'm jus an amateur.

There is going to be a grid 10x18. Im basicly just gona create the blocks at the top and move em down the grid. you control the blocks by killing units.

(woot 500 mins)

It's a lot easier if you use a grid system. Doesn't even have to be a mobile grid because of the limit of places possible for the pieces, but you definitely won't need 1100+ triggers. In fact, I'll probably restart my own Tetris map (last attempt lost when hard drive went poo).

I could make a tetris map with <200 triggers and <50 locations. Its not that hard. Just a very time consuming prodject. people normally dont finish maps like this.

wow, wait, dude, use eud conditions, like the screen detection stuff so u can have the ppl use arrow keys to do stuff... like when they hit up, it changes shape, left/right it moves that way, and down it moves down faster... and if u want u might wanna ask dk about using eas's or something, but u might not want to...

That's not a good idea if he wants the map to be Mac friendly. happy.gif

And besides arrow key thing doesnt work for multiplayer. Im using a dropship controller in my map. Its like 45% done so far. Im just doing some tournament coding. Then I have the actual grid coding. nothing really hard at the moment.

No offense, but if someone wanted to play tetris, why wouldn't they simply play tetris?...

is t- done with this?

I assume you're gonna be using flying buildings for the blocks?

I think you'll have it easier when making the buildings used in only one type of blocks, like CC's are only gonna be found in the 4x1 lines and barracks only in the 2x2's, etc. There's more than enough floating buildings for that to work.

Red2Blue showed me his tetris map, and let me tell you, it was pretty good for not being ocmpleted. It's a shame that he stopped Sphere Defense and that map, it was really unqiue. You should ask him about it, he could probably help you. By the way, don't use killing units, way too inconvinent, a grid system of controls would work best.
