The Pentagon has announced that US troops have discovered and secured a massive chemical weapons plant spanning 100 acres. The Iraqi troops guarding it surrendered to the US military without a fight. The Weapons Inspectors had no idea of its existance.

Report, edit, etc...Posted by Slyence on 2005-09-21 at 18:11:42
Maybe because satelites thought it was just a mansion or something. There is probally behind that, that bush does not want to share.

President Bush and other U.S. officials say ridding Saddam's regime of chemical and biological weapons is the main objective of the war.

LOL!!!!!

Yeah, this could very well be made up. It is sad that we cant really trust stuff in the news anymore.

ADDITION:

Yeah, how the hell would you mistake a "hundred acre complex" for a mansion?

CHEMICAL PLANT!!! NOT RESORT!!

Wow that is some old news that I never heard about. If it really was that big I think a lot of us would know about it.

Monday, March 24, 2003 was the date the article was written.

Fox News = the absolute worst news to use, ever. Fox pisses me off. It should be sued for posting such news.

Who else would own foxnews.com?
Even try fox.com, or Google search to look for their website, and the "news" link at the bottom will go to foxnews.com.
Long, "pointless" url?
I don't see how it's pointless.

QUOTE(Fox News)
The chemical plant is described as a "100-acre complex," surrounded by an electrical fence. The plant was also apparently camouflaged to avoid aerial photos being taken.

Hmmmm........... Seems kinda odd that our forces scouted hundreds of miles around the capital and just "FINALLY" find this.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by timmy8586 on 2005-09-22 at 19:16:14
The article said it WAS aerially camoflauged, which would account for the fact that planes couldn't just pick it out.

So what if they have a Chemical Weapons plant?

How come the US gets to have their own Chemical Plant but then they say that other countries can't have them because it's inhumane.

Quite frankly that's why so many people hate the US. They (They as in Goverment) think that they can have every single weapon of mass destruction but then they say that no one else can have them.

If they used the UN to get into Iraq because they suspiciously had Nukes, Chemical and Biological weapons, why can't other countries invade the US to get rid of their weapons? This so called "Operation Iraqi Freedom" didn't have to do anything with getting Saddam out of power, it's original intention was to destroy their ICBM's, nukes, chemical and biological weapons.

My country is full of people with double standards. Where is socrates when you need him? Seriously. He needs to walk up into the white house, and just blam slap everyone in the face. Then again, I forgot one small thing;
Greed doesn't really care about being right or wrong.

An old news from March '03 rings the same bell to me as zilch. They've found a news plant, big deal (already known that, btw). But still, where are the WMD's (read, no SCUD's)? 'Till today I haven't seen a single shred of positive/concrete ID'ing those. ermm.gif
Later down at the same article, states that U.N inspectors were already in the terrian and found nothing.

Edit add (sums point): That excuse weared out a looong time ago. disgust.gif

The media is bs half the time. Besides, a 100 acre mansion? I don't even think a 1 acre house exists in Iraq. And its Fox. Fox is the most pro republican channel in the freaking US. They'd do anything to support Bush and get him out of the 30-40% aproval ratings hes had in recent history.

Agreed, alas. happy.gif The sensacionalist frenzy (read, leading to bias) of some media press organs in the U.S. gets me to seriously doubt of their accuracy (not regarding in which politic side they actually stand).

Not exactly, but they're lacking some focus to say the least. wink.gif
Allow me to highlight, in bold, the real juice behind that news (read, as in the important summed up part).
QUOTE(Fox News 1st couple paragraphs on site provided in thread's 1st post)
Coalition troops are holding two Iraqi generals said to be in charge of the facility. Defense officials told Fox News that the officers are providing "good information" that could be crucial to searching out and dismantling Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program.

U.S. Central Command, which oversees the war in Iraq, said in a statement that troops were examining several "sites of interest," but said it was premature to call the Najaf site a chemical weapons factory.
