When i made a mod that had an scv attacking with nuke 5 times in one second it crashed..
Which is understandable of course (my first mod, dont criticize)
Now i made a little mod that is reasonable, giving high templar and dark archon some attack, editing some units attack and adding on guass rifle to firebat air and tank air.. things like that.
Nothing sc shouldnt be able to handle, i think.

This time it crashed saying sc can't find the recquired file..

Does the fact that it crashes in two different ways signify anything?
How can i make it so the reasonable mod wont crash?
(oh and i tested it in melee, when i finished building unit/building it lagged for a moment. any tips?)

Oh and this was all done 100% arsenal 3, unless you count winmpq and mpqdraft.

The first problem I see is that you need to make iscript changes. To give units air attacks when they did not have them before, you need to change their iscripts so that they have an airattack entry.

As a side note, you need to be careful when your modding firebat and tank attacks. Tanks you need to watch out for the fact that the turret is doing that attacking, and firebats because they often act funny because of the flames they attack with.

tanks,firebats and other units are not ment to attack air units and there will be some units that are not ment to attack ground
just like i wanted to give my missile turret the spike thingy that comes from the ground but i couldn't because you can't just do it like that you have to change the script for them more than that add an script for them to attack air

Just FYI: the High Templar already HAS an attack animation (recall Tassadar), as well as the Defiler, so I guess it was the DA what caused the problem.

Yah, but that still didnt explain why there are 2 different crashes, and the mysterious lag.
Any insight at that?
And is Iscript modified with Ice?(IceCC)

The High Templar doesn't have air attack animations, only ground attack. I assume it's the same for the Defiler, but I haven't checked. So you need to edit their scripts to give them air attacks.

Yes defiler only has a Ground Attack animation. This is only because both the High Templar and Defiler had attacks in earlier Starcraft development stages and the iscripts were never removed.

Just to make sure - do you own a legal copy of SC? I don't intend to raise any critics, but I recall having similar problems with a pirated version of SC I once had...
