I'm not sure what I did.. but when i start the game I made in Single-player starcraft it crashes my game



Here's the map...

can someone help?


they crash before the mission brief.... its weird!

I think I protected my map on accident and now I cant open it or something.... because now starforge crashes when I try to open it...

You didn't protect it on accident and you didn't do anything to it. Your file is corrupt so you had better hope that you got back-ups. In starforge, when you protect it, it just says the map is protected and won't let you open it. It doesn't crash. As for crashing when trying to play it, I would have thought you put units off the map borders or placed units/sprites that make it crash except you said it crashes BEFORE the mission briefings which leads me to believe its corrupt.

Excuse me for going off topic but if memory serves me correctly COP beacons cannot be created in the game via triggers. And there COP ability is removed like 10 minutes into the game because they are suppost to be used the for capture the flag game type.

So you won't be able to create new bunkers after 10 minutes into the game. Have you taken this into acount for your map? I would hate to see you put alot of work into the map only to stumble upon this when nearing compleation.

[attachmentid=14212]When I opened it in SCMDraft it deleted something, and it seems to work now, but you might need to go looking for what got removed (I think it's a location since Starforge only crashed when I went to location layer)

Then how does beacon defence work? They have COP beacons throughout the whole game and i'm pretty sure they are created...they may be stacked though and just given to the player, but i do know the COP works the whole way through

they're not actually COPS its the Terran Flag Beacons that I'm creating... I'm pretty sure that those will stick around... if not... I'm :censored:ed....

Which side of the COP did you mean? If you meant the very first one, the one where you get to place it...i think those stay forever until you finally plop one down...I dunno.

I was refering to the first part. The one with the ability to move the beacon by placing the COP.

In Capture the flag mode the two players have a little while to set up a defence and get the game started before the flags are created. During this time the player can move his beacon once to another place if he wants a differant base or for some other reason. I thought it was hardcoded into the unit to remove the ablitity so many minutes into the game. Just like how a flag will appear on a flag beacon.

A full game of Beacon Defence lasts 610 game seconds (10 minutes and 10 seconds), and you can't place any more beacons in the last ten seconds.

However, lag may make the game last/seem longer than ten minutes in real time.

The beacons are created, but that doesn't stop them from losing their placement ability ten minutes into the game. But then, there's nothing stopping anyone from making a good ten-minute map smile.gif
