Staredit Network

Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> AI scrips not working...

wallbash.gif What I'm trying to do is really simple: a 'use map settings' map with 'melee' style 1 human vs 6 computers. I've created 6 locations encompasing each computer's start location. I then applied the appropriate AI script @ location for each race (expansion [race] custom). I double-checked the locations with their corresponding triggers. The screenshot attached shows what each trigger looks like (they're all similar besides race and location). For some reason when I start the game, only one computer (fyi - Protoss) actually does anything besides mining, and even that computer does little else. I would greatly appriciate it if someone could tell me what the f*** I'm doing wrong because I'm about at my wits end with this.

I'm not too familiar with melee-style scripts. Try selecting a difficulty level. Like Protoss expansion campaign - insane 1 or something like that. Instead of custom 1.

Actually the insane's were the first ones I tried, and I followed the help file exactly (start them off with 6000 resources). Then only the Terran computers did anything. I think you need to build them a base for them to do anything cause they're not expansive, but I'm not really sure.

It might have something to do with location size, I find when using AI scripts that they work differently then they're supposed to if it's too big/small.

Even if you did everything right (AI location centered on resource patch, sufficient starting minerals/gas, etc.), scripts still won't always work right; it's like Windows tongue.gif .

Bases don't work in melee mode.

^ok.... I know that. It's a 'USE MAP SETTINGS' game. It's supposed to be a melee style with most units changed (more like a mod than a scenario). I have quite a bit of experiance with staredit, but (like what PCfredZ said) something that's designed to be either black or white deciding to be gray just boggles me.

But I guess that's kinda the point of "AI", lol.

We need the map, or more information.

Do the bases have at least 8 mineral patches and one vespene geyser?
Does each computer have a Command Center/Nexus/Hatchery, four SCVs/Drones/Probes, and an Overlord, based on the AI script setting?
Are the minerals for each player set to 50 at the beginning of the game?
