how can i corrupt a map? and what crashes sc when seen but not using triggers?
put an unused starport in your map and when a player sees it they crash.
You can place them using (I think) any map editor except staredit. The other map editors are available for download in the downlaod database
EDIT:
And by the way the white circle is just an unused teamplate.
The white circle from you siggy crashes the map when a player looks at it.
So does the independent command center and many other wierd SF buildings.
The best way is by disabling arbiters though becuase they can be controled.
You can corrupt a map (so that it can't be played), by exstracting it with WinMPQ, opening up the CHK with a hex editor, and deleting large amounts of the text you see

You can "corrupt a map" so it can't be opened by editors using
Uberation.
EDIT: Disabling arbiters also works well becuase you only need xtra-editor.
thanks now i just need a hex editor...

by the way the white circle it's not just a sf sprite unused that crashes according to btshrino its what makes the firebat and other units that doesn't actually have a weapon on them; helps them adjust their shoptting just to say so it's not just a simple white circle that crashes the maps
Aren't you thinking of protecting your map?
Attempting to open up a protected map will result in an apparent corruption error.
what about just opening the chk in the powerful and all mighty note pad and erasing all? and no, i don't think about protecting, i think i was very specific with the topic "how can i corrupt a map" so don't say anything about protection
That's what I meant.
Note pad, hex editor.
Meh, for some things they both work.
w00t thanks i just saw the thingy in the scenario desc. "scenario map file corrupted" and cannot be opened in ...well cannot be opened xD
thanks
wait a sec, why would you WANT to corrupt a map anyway?
Open the map with your starforge.
Open the same map with another editor, starforge again if you want. Save the map while map is open with both editors. Ta-da, corrupted map, plus the back-up with starforge just in case.
Yea, why would you want to corrupt it?
