Staredit Network -> Portal News -> Typo

There has been a major typo in our "values" on the portal page.

It said we don't approve of Map Protection. This is untrue, and is a stupid mistake by me. It has been changed to:

- Fully support and encourage Map Protection

Thanks to The.Gnome for bringing this to my attention.

sad.gif Map Protection is bad...people should be allowed tomodify maps so there better as long as they put the origanel creators name as the creators. But i relize your conserne! People may steal maps so i geuss i suport it but what if you need to edit your own map and you protected it?

Blame the commnity then. We support Protection because editing and stealing other peoples maps doesn't create any new, unique productions. Plus, you dont learn anything.

By protecting, the creators hard work is kept, and players are forced to go out and learn mapping on their own.

Staredit Network exists to help people do this.

I never protect any of my maps, because im happy to let peopel do as they wish with them after i complete them, because unlike many i don't release mine on B.Net normally on other servers like this one.

I always wondered why a progressive StarCraft forum (or community, I should say) harbored a conservative opinion like that. Glad to know it was a mistake.
