Maybe consider working with terrain a good bit to figure it out better? I don't claim to be expert with it, I actually suck too, I'm trying to develop my skills.

to become good at terraining u have to know the tilesets, when i figured out cliffs it really helped me to understand tilesets, and after u start to understand the tilesets in general (like how to make a wall like its supposed to be made) then u can try to get familiar with where things are in each tileset therefore knowing where tiles that you would need are...

thanks for the tips everyone, i got what i wanted, wooden i think ill need you for some terrain in an rpg i abondoned awhile back so be rdy to help meh out there lol
