Staredit Network -> Ideas -> Mario Party for Starcraft
Report, edit, etc...Posted by ... on 2005-10-10 at 15:59:35
I got an idea for making a Mario Party game for starcraft. I think I got the movement system and the options system perfectly in my mind. I think its good to use beacons as circles. (Red beacons as -3 coin spot, teal beacons as +3 coin spot and so on...) So, will anyone play it? Give me ideas and suggestions for minigames and the system. happy.gif

How could they make a Mario Party game without a board... ermm.gif Unless its a mass/bound/defense game.

In short, they just did the minigames with a slight plot.

I think that a board would rock.... especially if you had a dice - rolling system.... I would totally play that game if you made a board / minigames

I know how to make the dice... I will tell the locations to randomly go to a beacon and you will have to put your civilian (Die) on one of the beacons. I can do minigames.. one of them is a bound.. happy.gif

I just started on it and only 4 people can play on it (no comp). The dream Im making rite now is Winter Dream. So that mean its on brood war. wink.gif

I dont see how people get their percents....

I just estimate.

Yes, we just estimate them. Also, I've decided the player's units will be lurkers.

I dont see how people get their percents....
I do fractions in terms of "objectives" I invented to do in order, like if I've completed 5 out of 8 objectives.. i'll say i'm 5/8ths done, or about 60%.

In terms of concepts done, I'm about 80% done (minigames aren't very conceptual; i'm SCizing Mario Party minigames). If i'm talking about in terms of time how much I more I need to do, I'm only about 30-40 percent done. (Making 50 minigames is going to take a while. I'm thinking that the intro is 10% of the map, the board movements and events are 40%, and the minigames are 50%)

What exactly are you having trouble with?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by ... on 2005-10-15 at 22:00:04
The dice system, and I can't even make a good board. I prefer making bounds. It's my gift... biggrin.gif

dice system.. ah they do it in rp maps i dont think its to hard.. just ask like whos that one really good rp maker i forget his name.. volv i forget he got a lurker for his avatar and etc yea just ask him and board aint that hard i bet... just use starforge and the select thing.. i mean you know what i mean the little square fit on thing.. and place each becon like that it fits on perfectly smile.gif

yea then thoes 2 will be fine... oh wait nvm.. nice will be harder then that..
becuase that just make you say a random number... well you can add on trigger with that random number it says.. wow i cant really see how this gonna work.. must need a lot of trigger... well i guess its only me but i bet there is other ppl who can think of it with less trig..

If you can make the Mario Party game with the board and dice rolling, that would be great. All the Mario Parties I've played except for one were mini-gamed based, and the one that was board based...wasn't too good. Just remember not to get too complicated. Make sure to get it down in the triggers before you think it's perfect though. tongue.gif

Use switches... for the dice =/
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Subrosian on 2005-10-17 at 17:19:52
Switches aren't a very good idea, since they work best at multiples of 2 and the dice in the real mario parties display numbers going up and resetting.
