I know how mobile grids work, but the question is would it be possible to make one that doesn't interfere with air OR ground. If it is, explain.
Don't put in units that will interfere with the mobile grid.
Other than that, no.
I was hoping that wouldn't be the answer....
Elaborate on "interfere".
If you mean to have a unit that isn't on ground nor air, then of course it's not possible.
If you simply don't want them to mess up a certain group, then simply detect which one you want to use.
If you have air/ground units everywhere, then I don't think it's possible. (Naturally, there's a way to fix this but it's really really complicated and it involves giving units and returning and detection of certain types for every type. Complicated.)
What I mean by "interfere" is prohibit the placement of the grid
Hmm... detection might work.

Well if you used air then you could use ultralisks for the grid or something...i dunno...if you had a ground unit then use air units for the grid. just a suggestion
Thanks for repeating what CheeZe just said in his third paragraph.
Well I've used grids of air units with air, I simply moved the air unit out of the way before creating and removing the grid though. Not sure if thats what your looking for.

This is the another reason why I developed Pointer.
