Move - Unit move from a to b, doesn't attack
Attack - Unit move from a to b, attack when reaches b
Patrol - Unit patrols from a to b, attacks every enemy on it's way

can i make it so unit patrol from a to b and when it comes to b it stops ?
ADDITION: then how can i order them to stop ?

Make them patrol to from a to b. Then make them attack b when they reach b.
By this way they won't come back to a and will attack every enemy in their way.

The "Attack" command makes units kill things in their path

Less aggressively than using "patrol" though. I think they actively attack buildings they see and units that attack them first, if on an "attack" order, but they actively attack units while "patrolling", without having to be attacked first.

I belive that attack is the same as patrol, except patrol will move between 2 points.

Like in_a_biskit said, Patrol makes the units more aggressive.

Yeah i made a Saving Private Ryan map (not that great) and put the Omaha beach part on attack...and the units would get pretty close before retalliating (wich is what i wanted because it was supposed to be slaughter). But they wouldn't attack the Germans until they got shot (or nearby friendly units).

Patrol is better for attacks, as long as all the attackers die too.

so you should use patrol from point a to b
maybe i should change my map like that also....
well i think attack works fine also.....

The Attack order does not appear to behave like the Attack function you use in a game (hotkey A, click in general area, unit moves to area and attacks everything in between). Use Patrol as a rule of thumb, since it can give the units an action to perform after arriving at the designation as well. If you don't want the units to come back, simply add another trigger to counter the route back from Patrol.
