Where can I find some free modellers, and are they good?

What is the best modelling tool?

What do you need to create models?

How long does modelling take to learn?

This is right up my alley.

a free 3d modeler i use is called blender. try blender.org or look it up on google. It is a very very powerful tool, constantly being updated.

There is no mother of all modeling tools, but 3ds max i hear is really good (minus the 4K+ price tag!!!!)

you need a 3d editor. that all you need to creat 3d models.

You can learn basic modeling in just a few days. basic. mastering it takes years and years (think of it as a seperate art form, like painting).

I hope this helps.

I've heard you need photoshop to skin the models. Will the GIMP work?

you dont really need images. most have procedural textures (texutres inside the 3d program, for a lack of better word and time)

Hehe, Content to know someone is interesting in learning 3d modelling.

Alright, Questions in order:

You can find free Modelling programs On the Google search engine, Quite a useful tool. Some of the Modelling programs include: Maya, 3d Studio Max, Modo, Blender, Anim8or,
Cinema4d, Lightwave and Several more. A simple Google search should suffice.

The Best Modelling tool Ranges..From 3d Studio Max - Maya And Blender. (Blender is Free)

You need a Modelling Program and A Wow..Alot of patience.

Well, Depending on what you want to achieve in terms of modelling, It can vary from Months to Years worth of time. It also depends on your determination and the time you spend on it. It also Depends on a Very important factor, If your a natural artist, I can tell you right now that you will have a much easier time. If not, No worries.
It will come to you aswell, Just in longer time. I have seen..People do Good work on the 2nd or first week of Experience. Not Awesome work or impressive, But much better than I might have done when I started. So really, No Direct answer for this question. If you have any further questions, Or modelling questions aswell, You can pm me. Hope This was helpful.
