Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Preserve Not Working?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by B4L-69 on 2005-10-19 at 21:20:22
I'm making a defense map where units are preduced and the units for the first 2 waves keep comming till the trigger is cleared. I copied one of those triggers and just changed the unit comming out. What can be a reason for a trigger not preserving.

I will post my map if needed but i prefer not to since i'm pretty sure someone took my map last time and tried to pass it as there own.

Try checking that the conditions are being met. This is the only thing than can stop a preserved trigger from running aside from a long wait block.

the condition is not there anymore thats why the trigger won't keep going. so look why the switch or whatever u used to make the trigger go why its stopped. also u said you copied the trigger so the preserve might of been disabled so just check it off in the box. smile.gif

Sorry i forgot to add that when i take away the wait inbetween making the unit it works fine just mass creates the unit.

If your first trigger works but your second one doesn't, and both triggers work when you remove wait actions from them, then my guess is:
You have hypertriggers between your first trigger and your second one.

You're experiencing what many call a 'wait block'. To get around it, the best way is to set up the hypertriggers under a different player - a player that has no other wait actions.

I think its the way you set and clear switches. when i looked at your map i wasnt fimilar with the way you did it so i couldnt help much. If i wasnt lazy id make redo ur triggers and see if thats the problem.

A trigger might stop if there are many waits of the same player interfering. Make sure you didn't put the trigger in all players. Try to keep it so that a computer has all the create unit triggers, while the other just keeps attributes of the game. So yes, there is another trigger with a wait that's interfering.

Either a Long wait is occuring or the conditions for it to happen are no longer being met. Avoid 'Wait' at all costs, triggers not occuring when they are supposed to pisses me off.

its a wait block... move the triggers to different players or forces and make sure the hyper triggers aren't with them
