Recently I Turned My Map In "Hydralisk Arena" To The DLDB and MERRELL Siad no BECAUSE it was a MASS Map... It Got a 41/50 From Solar AND People From Op Sen Like Playing It now... Whats The Deal With That?? Is It a Favorites Contest?? Or Is It Ga.y?? Please Coment All You Want

Your game has much more strategy involved in it then the other mass games, so I'd say its not only mass, its more..

That was my decision. Deal with it, try to make a better map. I don't even know you, so it has nothing to do with "favorites," but that has nothing to do with it, because before I even look at the map maker, I download it, test it, write down the bad/good things, and then see if it is worth the DLDB. If the person was my best friend, and the map was bad, I would still deny it. The maker has nothing to do with it, unless it's a map stealer or something.

Not all maps will get accepted. It doesn't matter what the comments were. I indeed read the comments in the thread and all of the scores. I saw it in the DLDB and decided to try it myself with a few people. I didn't really like it, and considered it to be another massing map.

Is there a rule agains mass maps? If no then you must deny all bounds as they are all completely the same.

Mass mapes can be boring, but still it was Merrells decision, you just need to move on or ask some other DLDB keeper.

And its not all about you either. You're the first person to start a ruckus about his map getting denied from the DLDB and you really have no reason to. What if we held such a poll for every map submitted that the DLDB keepers decided should be denied? It would be a constant spam of topics and everybody would end up ignoring them.

The DLDB keepers exist to weed out all the maps we don't want at SEN and accept all the ones we do. They make the decisions so you don't have to go through tons of maps looking for something you want to play. Madness maps are one of those maps that shouldn't be accepted. Why? It normally takes zero skill to make them and most people agree that they aren't very fun at all. While I agree with bounds, Yoshi wants them in there so they stayed.

but this isnt like a normal mass map this took time to make not just create 1 unit every second comes this has 2 massers duplication system 3x system ant system and sh!t

I think this was a bad decision on merrells part, mostly because he tested it and didn't like it then decided it would be a waste of DLDB space doesn't mean other people won't. Still, I haven't played it so I can't really comment on how strategic this map is.

And plus Agent your map has other features that "Madness" maps have, including you get credits for like every certain amount of killz to buy units with or to get more minerals to upgrade your hydras. And a Madness map is just considered as a map with the same units re-creating like Merrel said in the Oo forum, and then the unit upgrades after a certain amount of kills.

But like I said this map has quite a few more features and strategies than any other "Madness" maps that I have ever seen/heard of.

It's my/other DLDB keepers decisions, not SENs. A poll won't do you any good.

Yes, Madnesses are as simple as bounds but madnesses are so simple and most people completely ignore them. I really think you should try something more constructive such as a good defence, RPG, or a new type of map.

Here's an idea, just an idea it doesnt mean it has to be made. When DLDB keepers dont like a map, they can put it on another website, so people will rate the map to see if it should be in the database. If it doesnt get voted on, it wont go in. It should be like "We give them 3-4 weeks and if if they say No dont put it in or you dont get any votes at all, it wont be entered in the database.

Because I think that when a "new" starcraft player makes a new map they think its awesome they need encouragement. DO NOT TURN THEM DOWN! IF YOU DO GUESS WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE COMMUNITY! YEP THAT RIGHT LESS MEMBERS!
Guess what happens with less members.

Less SEN Members > People dont come to this site because they get turned down so much > they start to turn away from playing starcraft > less starcraft players > no good maps anymore because people still like to play old maps :\ > No good starcraft games anymore > Makes you turn away from starcraft.

See? It goes around in a circle starting from new people that quit starcraft to you.

Yeah but Fierce there are more StarCraft websites that are pretty big rather than just SEN....

I know yet alot of new people most likely dont know other "big" starcraft websites. Because this domain is www."staredit".net so they think its like blizzard's own site. Yet they find out that it's not but they really like this SEN because of its activeness, files, nice people (some..), and other things.

What I mean is they like to make maps and they see they are using the editor known as "Staredit" so they go to www.staredit.net. See where im getting at?

How about this as an idea... I am at school so I didn't have time to read other's posts.

But, here goes:

If one DLDB Keeper rejects a map, one other DLDB keeper has to test it. That way, maps will have the chance to be seen and played by another keeper. If it gets passed the first time, then great. If it doesn't it gets one more chance.

Newsflash guys, there are other games that take no skill such as defense games.
But they have their own special catagory.
Just let his map in, if it isn't a SSJ10 GOKU MADNESS map it should be in.
Trust me, I see a bunch of crappy maps in the DLDB. From what I hear this game is original, so just let it in.

Hearing is not knowing. Though I'd say that it's a fun map.

If everyone likes it, then why reject it. The maps in the dldb aren't just for the dldb keeper's entertainment, it's for the rest of SEN too.

Though, I can understand how there are many people in the same situation and you can't deal with them all or we would be swimming in spam. I think you guys should look at how people respond to maps in map showcase before rejecting/accepting maps.

You guys are trying to say I rejected it AFTER I saw how many people liked it? No. I didn't.

It's just Merrell's opinion. It doesn't really matter. There will always be people who will hate/love your map.
