Report, edit, etc...Posted by MindArchon on 2005-10-20 at 19:04:42
I have finally gotten around to submitting the new version of Trigger Viewer. I've had it sitting around for a while now.

I am aware that there was a bug present where you could not open any maps protected with Uberation, but it is now fixed. Currently, the program seems to open all maps fine regardless of protection.

Download Now!

Its not like u can do that though Syphon, unless you modify the trigger viewer program

Yea I don't mind people using this as it wouldn't change anything in there map. Just help to educate them.

You can't steal a trigger, if it's gonna be original good, but once its out there other people will learn it. Why do you think people talk down to bounds nowadays.

Hate is such a strong word.

Same thing for LotRishes. As for education, once it is out there, people learn it. The only thing you can do is to protect it as best you can., if you don't want your idea to be shared... of course, if you wanted not to share, you wouldn't bother to publish your map. Defeats the whole purpose of map-making.

Chances are, if you are helping a person with a map out, they will give the unprotected version, so that you can look at the chan ges without difficulty.

Is unchecked-never protection still available? Or was this the "bug" that was fixed?

Is there even proof that anyone who has read basic Staredit tutorials, and practiced making triggers theirself, learned also from this program?

Right now, I only see this program as a look-and-copy tool so that those using it can obtain the "same effect" used in the map prior to their own, without actually learning anything.

Well one thing is for sure, anyone who can't come up with the same effect used in one map is ignorant, and it has been emphasized with this program.

I have no idea what this means. Would someone mind telling me? Also, this is like an unprotector?

MindArchon, I think you need to make this line bigger in the file download page:
QUOTE
This is not an unprotector! All maps that are opened cannot have their triggers extracted or copied!

There was discussion earlier about having triggers with an unchecked never condition hidden from Trigger Viewer. I thought MindArchon had implemented it, but I guess not.

Look-and-copy still could result in learning. There's no proof anyone CAN'T learn. wink.gif

It's like taking notes. Even if your not really paying attention, writingthings down from the board always helps you learn.
