is there a way to detect sprites

like the placable sprite of a ghost's red target laser for the nuke

EUD, or maybe bring (name of placeable sprite that looks like the laser) to somewhere and add action to it

Why would you detect sprites of your own map?

No, you cannot place, detect, remove, or modify sprites using any trigger. They are literally pasted onto the terrain and go into the CHK file, and are assigned no LocalID. However, doodads might have an active RAM slot..

oh............

but still why would you want to in the first place?

if i could detect that laser, then it could be a new kind of aiming system, where you could shoot at the terrain also

oh that would be cool. But the actual laser is not a sprite in the game when they fire it. Its a unit...like dark swarm and disruption web I BELIEVE(correct me if im wrong).

It's not a unit.
