YEAH,I almost made it...but TileEdit Says "Bitmap is incorrect size"...W.T.F.?!? My Bitmap is 512x32 -THIS IS THE CORRECT SIZE!
What the hell is happening here?

Wierd...if i edit a single pixel and import it back into TileEdit it gives me the incorrect size error... confused.gif

CORRECTION:TileEdit doesnt accept my file even if i didnt edited it,just opened and saved it...i've tried MS Paint and PhotoShop8

any1 that knows anything about terrain can do this...
u should try to blend the back of the cliffs to dirt, u can use the bridge to dirt tiles at the bottom of the pallette to blend it easier...
and what happend with that one marine? he died...

Meh... the terrain needs to be blended, and it has some blockiness that can be fixed...

its the only way to make 3+ elevation look normal

could someone please download tiledit ,export a tile ,edit it (just a single pixel change will do),save it and try to import it back?

With TileEdit u could (obviously smile.gif )edit tiles-the little square parts of terrain.
I'am Doing this for my Mod(+campaign) -"The Sons of Korhal".I am trying to bring back the stuff that was cut off during the sc alphas and betas.I already made some stuff,like grenade launchers,acid spray attacks,Flyer turn animations etc.
Now I am makin the 3+ terrain elevation just like in one of the alpha screenies of sc.I MUST use TileEdit in order to make that terrain look good-not squary,same colour.All the editing i've made till now is exportin existing tiles and importing them back BUT now i gotta edit EVEn the NORTH tiles .I want to export some existing tiles and remove the water(blue part) and replace it by ground so it will be DARK Brown.
I can't just use SCMDraft or StarForge(StarForge sux) because not all tiles will look good.
Any other questions?

BTW Could StarEdit Networks Host my mod after it gets finished(probably next year) it will probably be 50-60 MBs

You can easily make a three level cliff using normal tiles.
huh.gif Don't see the point of a mod that would be used for that purpose.

NEVERMIND! I understand what your doing. I think its genius. needs some fine tuning and finishing though.

The left part is what i already edited ,the right(with the water) is what im editing and replacing.AFTER i open the image and the save it the damned program doesnt accepts it.
im makin a mod because WHEN I make a huge map 192x192 i dont feel like editing all of the single tiles with scmdraft and I CAN'T make the NORTH tiles look dark brown just with scm draft

there will probably be 2 mods : one single player,containing the outdated memgraft 1.12 patch and a Second mod multy player mod for b.net

Tiledit is very picky about the format you save the file in. It's not specifically the size of the bitmap, but the format it's saved in. I don't remember the exact steps I had to take to make it work correctly, but it does take some fudging to make it work right.

For the record: I've used photoshop, mspaint, and gimp for making custom tiles. I don't remember why, But I settled on using gimp because I like it the best. If you really want me too, I could go back through some of my work and find the correct order and fudging I went through to make it work.

I think it had to deal with the colors in the image or something like that, where tiledit's outputs/inputs were 16-bit, and the programs all saved them as 32-bit.

Just do it in paint and save it as a 16 bit file. It'll auto-limit the colours and its very easy to edit pixels with paint.

err it doesnt work
btw if u check the colour depth of an extracted tile it will show 8 BitsPerPixel in other words :256 colours

Good job finidng a third lvl omg!! too bad any 1 with half a brain can do that. You can go up to 50 layers if you wanted to. Any ways i can get 3 layers without using starforge are you ready for this!?!?! Desert tile-----Sandy sunken pit, sand dunes, high sand dunes. OMFG I DID IT HOLY CRAP!

i am no one here..but i expect you to read a bit the topic before posting something that offesive
and to you w/e ur name is.."the topic starter"
when i was learning to use title edit it gave me the same problem i was using this hm... microsoft picture manager i think what i did is that i made two copies of the title that means exporting twice the ...title you want you modify one to w/e u want then you open it in MS paint...i hope u have it and cut it then open the not modified file in MS paint and paste the cut one the save as the required name is then import it into title edit.
well..that worked for me i don't know if it will to you
and for everyone that still doesn't know what is title edit: it's a modding tool that allows you to convert certain files(terrain files) in to a bitmap image which you can paint most like...to whatever you want without modifying the bitmap size that its hmm...i forgot but it's in this topic by the way i think it is on the wrong forum biggrin.gif have fun
