Right now I like Starforge for its superior trigger editor and ability to do everything else. It is a one-stop job for most of my mapping needs.

Starforge here also, at least until SCMD can support EUD conditions.

0mgz X-tra is the best, tongue.gif.

You can make a good map with X-tra, but the features added by StarForge and SCM Draft can be very useful. I'll vote SCM Draft since I use it more, but I still use StarForge at some point on all my maps.

I'm going to say X-tra, I'm just old-school like that.

starforge for me. i like the trigger editor in it. i can type faster than i can click things. and it can do pretty much anything.

The number of people who still use SCXE sickens me. There is absolutely nothing at all that SCXE has that either Starforge or SCMD can't do. Even for the noobs who are scared of using the keyboard to do triggers can use SCMD.

I used sc-xe as a beginner but i moved on to starforge. It's much simpler, you don't have to look in lists and crap, you can just type them in. I hate the lists, and sc-xe can't use rect terrain. There is no stacking either. I use scmdraft for terrain usually and starforge for triggs. I alternate on both for units and i use starforge for sprites.

I like starforge the best because it is the best for rectangular terraining and unit placing and it can do the strings best in my opinion

gotta agree starforge strings seem to work better for me then scmd too.

i see nothing wrong with x-tra it seems its the least bugged one even though i gotta say its simple

well i think x-tra editor is the best for starters but i like starforge over all tongue.gif

i like starforge becuace of its unigue triggering.
the rest of them are kind of slow to make triggers.

Minigame in reference to your avatar sex isn't near for me sad.gif *sobs* *needs sex*!!!!! I chose SCXE I'm old skool tongue.gif I like it I'm used to it, SF I use for all terrain and sprite related matters, unit placement too usually. I hate SF triggs though I can click faster than I can type and I can never remember what to type + I've had bad experiences with SF triggers (I had a map 99% complete took me about 6 months of my life and it got corrupted, I had no back up sadly sad.gif). SCM Draft or whatever it is, I hate. I don't like it's set up for some reason, sorry tongue.gif. I don't think you should be apalled by the number using SCXE it's a good program, no bugs whatsoever atleast that I know of..

Of course there are very few bugs in SCXE, thats because there are a lot less features in SCXE also.

i don't understand how people can say this. it shows you everything you need to make a new trigger. it gives you a list of all the actions, conditions, parameters for each, and even gives you the syntax for each of them.

Making maps isn't all about using flashy or cool features (like square terrain, p9+ players, sprites, etc.) Many great maps out there dont even touch SF or SCMdraft (like the wwII games and related stuff).

Mostly because few people have heard of them. My point is I'm sickened by how many people are actually scared away by the promise of extra features when between Starforge and SCMDraft, there is nothing Xtra outdoes them in.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Xeno on 2005-10-29 at 13:41:52
I'll use SCMDraft 2 when I need to, but I'm perfectly happy with SCXE. It has everything I need, plus it's simple and not buggy.

People are scared of them because they're different. People are scared of things that are different.

ADDITION:
