Some of them are actually pretty nice. Others are just old.
My favorite is #5.

#3 was a good one but they are just too sprite intensive for me.
yeah i know i went a little overboard on sprites but once i placed a few..it seemed like to make it match it needed more..most are completely for no reason.. =\ bad decision -- my bad
Those are pretty good I liked the 3rd one that 1 was cool but some of them were kindof simple
"Most are for completely no reason."
I disagree, I can see blockyness through the cracks... you could of made these much more well blended b4 you posted your own "collection"
I guess, actually, the rawness of the blends kind of gives a good picture at what you truely wanted from sc custom terrain making... some of the sprites n' placment is very meaningful as to your preferences...
5/10 (Mostly for effort, and the courage to post it on SEN, lol)
Some of these gave me ideas for more terrain blending. Woot.
well just so u know its been awhile since ive done any terrain ever since someone decided that i can't be a terrain forum mod anymore i kinda said "screw terrain on SEN"
The terrain apears to be from a rpg of some sorts.
If that is the case is the map simply unfinished, possibly scraped?, or is it completed?.
Also your works not super high quality, but it looks fairly good if you dont look at it with the aim to heavily scrutinize.
too sprite entinsive, and you should blend it the best you can before you start placing sprites to decorate it...
6/10 overall...
and i think they took away yur terrain mod privilages because u never used it, and when u did it wasnt for much good...
Some blockiness... But not much, and way too many sprites. Especially for an RPG... Well survival horror. How will you keep the zombies from freezing it up?!?!
7/10
(P.S. don't take too much from woodenfire, he rates hard.)
some nice ideas but no offence to you but cant people make other terrains? it would be cool if those were ice or space.
but ne way, ill give them 7/10 i did see some blocky ness but not a lot, it's good blending.

Actually that terrain will be used in my up and coming project that i have been working on for 3 months... Rune: Seige of Azuroth
No zombies... lol..
p.s i spent 3 days on that terrain i made it as "non-blocky" as i could and i made the terrain with alot of sprites not because soem parts are blocky because i LOVE sprites...yeah i will admit some spots had to be covered byt overall it was for my personal opinion on looks.
man tell you the truth i think thats good enough terrain

i think just that WoodenFire is better then us so he says 5/10

to make us feel jelous
but ill give 8/10 i like all of thoes
It's Siege

.
Wooden does rate hard... but he is one of the best, so i'd take his word for most of what he says...
wooden and me go back far and he actually wrote me a private message explaining that he meant nothing bad about it...I take his lower rates as a challenge to do better...lol it's hard to keep up with him...
I don't really like WoodenFire, the point of it is to make it enjoyable to play and the average B.Net player will not say Hmmm I wonder if this is blocky, OH I SEE BLOCKINESS I QUIT!!! My fav was #5, you are a little sprite intensive though because it just looks weird seeing a farking tree in the middle of a bunch of water lol. I like it though 8/10.
That's not the point. WoodenFire believes terrain is an art.

And he probably has a high degree of insomia caused by his obsessive working on Cresent Dyne...

You guys really shouldn't talk this way about him...Just because he does alot of terrain and is a hard credict doesn't mean somethings wrong with him.
Insomnia is simply a lack of sleep, and if you see the progress he's made on that map you probably wouldn't doubt that he's pulled few all nighters.
I'll have to side with WoodneFire on this. There are
far too many sprites. The concept is there, but the execution is not. Go ahead flame for this. But I think WoodenFire was being nice when he rated your terrain... 3/10
Why?
○ Sprite usage. You were not using sprites for the hell of it. I could see spots that you made blocky. Things that are impossible to make blocky. I can't remember which screenshot it is. But, it was one with just regular High Dirt on Dirt. You had about 20+ sprites covering up a lot of it.
○ Difficulty. I am not saying I am WoodenFire. I am not saying I am even half the terrainer he is. But, all of the stuff you have done was simple. All it was, was a shiz load of sprites and simple blends.
If you feel up to it, repost all of the screenshots, with out the sprites, but don't make any changes. That way we can see just what the sprites are there for.
Sorry if I am talking like I am a terrain god. Which I am not. I already know this. But, your terrain needs a significant amount of work.
*Forsaken shrugs... Erm... Sorry?
