Staredit Network -> Modding Assistance -> Tileset editing?

TileEdit only takes bitmaps of maps, and ARSIII doesn't actually modify the tiles ingame, just their staredit appearance(?). What program do I use for tileset editing?

Arsenal III modifies the tiles by changing which ones are walkable for ground units and which ones arent

As for changing what the tiles look like I dont know what you would use

I would assume the tile GRPs are in the data MPQs. *goes off to look

Hmm, it's probabally encoded in tileset\*.vf4......

you can actually only open one with the title edit i think it is the cv5 (just like aIII it opens the basic title)
the other ones are like hmm irrelevant but you need them to load the cv5 because when opening the cv5 the program loads all the other files too try this load one file then save changes in a diferent folder and it will save all the files ...let me go test first yeah it's like that ...that means that you need all the files from the same tileset and you can only modify the main that would be the cv5 but also if you modify the cv5 you mod the others too biggrin.gif and i think title edit is the program you should be using to edit titles..or well it depends on what you want because with TE you create bmps modify the bmps and then load back those bmps you modified

basically you work just with one let's say you are working with badlands you open your favourite mpq viewer open stardat extract "badlands.cv5, cf4, vr4, vx4, wpe
open the cv5 in tile editor export it to create a bmp ..work it and import again...now the problem should be that it's incorrect size or you saved as diferent name And The mpq won't recognize the extention
