I was playing a turret defense game, and while playing we get every minute a text message with text looks like "Garfield[SG], you have now 6 Purple Missile Turrets", or "MyIII, you suck my ass!"
In this case, Garfield[SG] and MyIII were players, Garfield[SG] was Purple with 6 missile turrets, MyIII was another turret defense player.
In that text, how can the editor use player names and counts of units in text messages under 'Display Text Message'?
Example:
"Hey Blue, your name is [PLAYERNAME P2], and you have [NUMBER OF KILLS] kills."
"Hey Blue, your name is Player, and you have 24 kills."
Does anyone know how to do this?
They probably made sure they ended up in the right slots. Otherwise they must have used EUD conditions. There is no way to have variables in it, so it can't hold every single player name so you can only have specific player's names. To do that, you would need to know the player who is blue, and have a ton of different triggers for every single kill amount, and then have those copied for different player names if you want it to detect more then 1 player. Uberation helps with EUD conditions.
Or someone was using a message spoofer program or something like that. You can make a trigger that tells people how many kills they have but the name thing would be almost impossible unless the names were pre-defined which I believe they were.
Im sure you could use a system similar to the binary code system using EUDs that filled in spots of every letter(along with however many special characters SC allows). Let's say that starcraft allowed 8 characters and ONLY letters. Then you could calculate each of the following letters in the name. Try pming Fwop_ because his binary system is holy. Im sure he could tell you how to do it using letters instead of numbers (maybe?). If this would work using EUDs and the binary system you would have an ungodly amount of triggers to use for each possible name which would be amazingly time consuming. Have fun with it! lol.
I know this is similar to what LW said, but oh well. You could make a bunch of triggers that do the same thing, but you won't be able to have the names in the triggers. If you do this, you are going to be using a lot of strings.
In short, you can't make every different person who's going to play your map have their name spelled out with triggers. That would litterally be impossible (I believe there are more than 65536 startcraft players).
You could make it so you and a bunch of your friends can have you names spelled out with triggers, but this would be time consuming... So you can go ahead and do that

conclusion it prob some kinda text hack thing
You could also host the game privately and see if pops up again, although it probably won't.

There have been over 9 million units of Starcraft and Brood War sold. (Little higher than 65536)
Post the map...
Or, you could host the game, then see if its real or not...
It's a text hack. There is no sensible way in which to do this.

He said USERS. Alot of people don't play on battle.net. Plenty of those cds have been trashed, lost, broken, unused...trust me. I still would imagine the user count to be higher than that. Especially with all 4 gateways.
Battlecruiser, since when have anything new we figured out sensible

lol just kidding.

No wait this could be real in the map Tetris Bound 2 by BoA_ZanK does the same thing it says in the beginning.
