Is it possible to use text from one text string onto another line within two different text triggers and make it appear to be one line with stacking during game?

(im not talking about unit names or breifings or forces)

Basically displaying two text messages to appear as one so you can reuse multiple text strings to appear as one line.

I was messing around one day with stacking and I was able to get the text from the top text message downards between the middle of the two text messages.
But I wasn't able to get the bottom text message to bump upwards.

Think its possible? I wanted to use it for my maps. Thanks.

Offsetting text up or down isn't possible in SC, to our knowlege. If anyone reaserches this and finds the symbols that let you do it... not much will happen.

so what your saying is you wana overlap text in the text message action?

If so you don't need 2 triggers you just need to use the overlap back and front..

Let me make sure I got this right. Like how some mapmakers stack "Map Made By: (Name) in bounds n stuff. you want to learn that or am I thinking of something else?

I'm pretty sure there isn't a way. It will just bump the previous text up a line.

It is very possable. I use it all the time.
I do it in briefings, on screen, unit names, etc. Just put loooots of spaces.

I saw it in a map once by some (U) members, but it was in the mission briefing. It was called FAST Bound.

i personally don't think its possible cause it would just jump up like that guy said but to prove it can some1 post that map that nerdyTerdy was talking about?

Could you put the map file on here so some of us can see it? I have no clue what you are talking about but I would like to get an idea of the whole thing.

Well since you guys says its possible the only way i can think of is in the mission breifings he put no waits and it was going so fast it looked stacked wink.gif

i thought he was talking about in the game when you use the Display Text Message trigger, not the briefing. confused.gif

I was talking about something different, not stacking. I know stacking is possible, up to 3x for regular sized words and names and 8x for one letter.

I had a map (can't find it now), where I used two different display text strings within one trigger and displayed them both one after the other.

I inputed a serious amount of back and front "thingys" and tabs into the first display message and somehow got it to plop the text below where the text was supposed to be within that one text trigger.

In other words it looked like this:

1st line: Message (display message #1)
1.5th line?: Message ( from the first display message somehow plopped itself within the middle of the two display text messages)
2nd line: Message (display message #2)

Starcraft can only display 12 lines of VISIBLE text per display message.

Somehow the text plopped between the 1st and 1nd line.
Basically it created a 1.5th line.

But only from the top message, I was wondering if it was possible to use text from the second display message to make it go up instead of down so it can display two separate parts of message to create one sentence that seems to be from only one display message (so I can reuse segments of text for different situations to save strings).

Basically displaying one sentence within the 1.5th line using two different display text. Is it possible?

Thanks.
