Well i just decided to post this because it seems wierd and im wondering if any1 else experiences this too. when i draw sketches that i dont try hard on it actually turns out better then the sketches that i try hard on... this seems a little wierd to me. Maybe its my subconcious that draws the better pictures blink.gif

Same for me. If I concentrate too hard on something I seem to freeze/lock up.

Seriously. That always happens to me. Like, I was trying to draw this guy, and he was really messed up. And then I, like, wasn't trying to draw this guy, and he was freaking awesome.

Same here. When I spend too much time preparing for a difficult drawing, I usually can never get it the way I want. But if I just sit down and wing it, it usually comes out pretty good and I can just polish it up a little once its finished.

In fact, sketching my cels before I inked them took up so much time that I stopped doing it. Now I just sit down and draw them with straight ink and I rarely mess up the drawing to the degree where I have to trash it. I can fix any minor errors in Photoshop once I'm done. Now, I only sketch backgrounds and really difficult poses before I ink them.

It's kinda like that with me, but when I try to draw something realistic, it turns out more real if I concentrate but if I draw casually it turns out less real but more cool-looking (too late to think up a fancy word to use tongue.gif). And if I am limited to certain things, I tend to draw worst. Like for instance, in one project in Art Class, you can only use shades and when I sketch I use a lot of lines, so those srawings generally turn out worst than if I could use lines. Of course, I am more of a cartoonist. If I ever get a scanner, I'll post some of my 'work'. happy.gif
