-YOU-Have I been drinking? Where am I?Is this a motel? No.. Where are mybuddies?-THE ROOM-Wake up wake up. You don't have muchtime to sleep. I am sucking the essence of your body. You could'nt stop my poison, but you couldrun. Alas, the door is locked, but thekey to your freedom lies within these walls. I hope you can get out beforetime's up, because your freinds may be waiting for you by the final thresholdtoward freedom.-
Wondering where you are? You are insidea basement and breatheing in the stench ofpoison. You have half an hour to figure your path to freedom,or else you die.As you may have already noticed, Edward. He's very hungry. His parents only feed him once every two days. They keep him locked up behind that wall because theycan't allow the world to know of Edward, their inbred mutant son. And because of this, Edward has been living like thisforever. But Edward will be avenged. Itook the time of punishing his parents for theif ignorance, and for keeping theworld away from Edward. But I could'ntfree Edward, maybe with him you could free both of you.Don't let your ignorance control you,Edward knows a lot more than you think,he may be the one who saves you.Small picture... I'll upload a bigger one.
seems like a mystery game... do you have to be smart to figure the game out or can you just be one of thoes guys who spend time on it..
I think this sounds interesting.
Is each player going to have hints to help another player escape or do something?
nice
make sure that you make the solutions different every game
Yah, or there will be no replayability whatsoever.
So... how do you find out that there is a bomb? You said you are trapped in a room so how would you find out.
maybe one day u wake up in the room and u dont remember what happened before and there's a note next to u saying that there's a bomb in the room (so u dont actually know if there IS a bomb, but u dont want to take a chance)
simple, to the point, suspenseful
yeah a note.
Different solutions are kind hard.... or time consuming
thers 3 roles to play and to beat the game , all 3 ppl must escape their own rooms and unlock the exit with thier knowledge.
besides, it takes a while to figure it out. So you might have to play each room a few times to beat it b4 time runs out
Isn't this exactly like the puzzle the last 3 contestants on the first season of "The Mole" had to do?
Anyways... I don't think it would be that hard to make it replayable. You could do things such as:
1)Randomly change the positioning of objects (such as the bed, door, and other things)
2)Use random switches to change the numbers on the quadruple digit locks. By having 10 "display text" triggers to display 0-9, whenever you say, find a piece of paper with a number on it, you can have the triggers react to display that random number.
3)Hypertrigger blank text when they are not near an object so that players cannot communicate with each other. Then, to balance it, make it that when a person are near the wall speaker in the room, he can hear what the other two are saying.
If you don't understand, it's like this:
Person A is at the speaker. Person A can see the text of person B and person C, but person B and person C can't see any text.
Sure, you could cheat and use the pause button, but then you're just taking the fun out of it!
There are DEFINITELY ways to add replayability
honestly, thats a bad storyline, I mean its cool that they are trapped and all, but a bomb? c'mon who hasnt thought of that....sry, dont mean to offend

yea that sounds good i like that one..
also you should have a tleast a few randomized triggers...
How about making it like 30 rooms. And you work together as a team to move objects, find things, and use special abilities to figure things out...
Strenght to move dressers, large objects...
You could make it RPGish and have it so enemys come out of waste baskets or something! Spawns n' such!
Oo
Sounds pretty cool. I might check it out once it's done.
if i make it like 30 rooms it would be llike a puzzler. IM trying to make it so its like one of thsoe japanese flash games caleled crimsom room
make the room fairly big, but add hundreds of riddles and stuff in order for the guys stuck inside to get out, and make them have to flip switches and stuff......having bad guys in it is not a good idea (except for the main bad guy or bad guys(the government?) who left you in the room)
Make the time limit realitively low, like 15-20 minutes so it adds tons of difficulty. And onces you set up all the tricks to exit the place, push the time down to the fastest 1 of your testers accomplished it in.
Fun Fun Fun.
Yeah, setting a low timelimit will make it much funner, and more playability. Because when the time limit is low people will panic
and try to rush it and probobly die
it sounds like Silent Hill 4 The Room, almost...anyway it'll be something to look forward too, ill play it
oh my time limit... and hard puzzel scaryness... sounds like saw lol... haha expect sc will never be as gross as saw... it might be cool if you can make it but just not possible.
acctually maybe you can make a map where you have to kill your ally just for the heck of it.. but like if you kill wrong dude.. you like auto die.. or something i donno... a saw based game with killing your ally...
LoL boyscout, i was reading the last page and i was thinking the same thing, but i guess that if u was going 2 make a saw 2 map, u could do a BIG room and everyone is in it and everything is changing, or maybe you could make a cube map (the movie the cube) where there are over 100+ rooms and 90% are traped, lol i think the map maker has seen thease movies to often
i only saw saw once. Cube? some small canadain movie... never seen it. good idea though.
did u get this idea from "the crimson room"
yeah i siad that somewhere
