Staredit Network -> Concepts -> Toggleing game speeds...

Could there be such a thing for changing the game speed right in the middle of a multi or even single player game? I am thinking that there are such conditions as detecting text and other cool things but what about the actions for changing the game speed. Here is an example trigger:

Trigger
Description:
Game Speed Trigger
Players:
¤ Player 1
Conditions:
¤ "Player 1" brings at least "1" "any unit" to "game speed fastest"
Actions:
¤ Change gamespeed to "fastest"

or...

Trigger
Description:
Game Speed Trigger
Players:
¤ Player 1
Conditions:
¤ "Player 1" brings at least "1" "any unit" to "game speed slowest"
Actions:
¤ Change gamespeed to "slowest"

I don't know if this can even be done but this could be good for some of the movies/trailers that are being made today. Even bounds could use this little effects to make the gameplay a lot cooler.

It could be done before with EUD triggers, now it isn't possible, although you might want to look at some other threads that are hanging around about other options for making the game speed seem to change, I beleive theres one in MMA on it.

I had a feeling that this kind of thing could not be done but it was a concept that other people could use in there works.

Yeah i dont think it can be done either. To my understanding speed can only be altered when you place the first unit on the map. maybe talk to dabbu hes sexy with pl 14

Its possible,

have a preplaced map revealer as your first unit

and while in game just give that map revealer to player 14 to toggle on 2x speed and give it to a normal player to toggle off.

what you can also do is pause it. its not slow mo but its great for like missile effects say if your guy was about to get hit by a missile you pause it

I know about the whole turning up the game speed by x4 and x2 but I want to do it by using triggers. You would think that in the beginning when you would select a speed that it would set a trigger in the game for that speed to be toggled. There are conditions of game speed detection but no actions for changing the game speed. You would think that these would be alike in someway.

Have you tested your theory though? I don't think that it will work.

That would NOT work.

Changing game speed is not possible while in game. It requires some sort of hack, and these hacks (to change game speed) don't work while other people are in the game, it will just make a laggy game for you.
You can not make a trigger to change the game speed, unless you use something to back patch the EUD patch, but thats against game rules, just like the hack. :/
Only way to change speed is to use the preplaced unit idea... But that can get dull! wink.gif

It DOES work with triggers. I remember when someone made a topic about it (forget his name, the guy who made Everacha RPG). Give me a second to find the map.

EDIT:

There was a thread about it too, but I'd have to search for it.

They are alike, the game speed detection is an EUD condition, you could set the game speed with EUD actions but they got patched, but conditions weren't.
