Storyline

  The space station U.S.S. Colonial was struck by a meteorite while in orbit around Earth. The colony's power was shut down. You're sent in to restore power to the station. While in the colony you discover that the situation is much more complicated..

Gameplay

    While investigating the space station one of the players becomes infected by a parasite causing their genes to change dramatically. The object for the player who is "Infected" would be to kill the marines. The object for the marines is to find out who is "Infected" and eliminate them.

Features

Evolution- While in "Infected" form your monster will gain points over time. In your begining stages you are extremely weak, and get stronger each evolution.

Disguise- If you're infected you'll be able to switch from your "Infected" form and your normal marine form to fool the others into trusting you.

Backpack- Instead of randomly finding mines and health packs on the ground like in other games. You start of with a limited inventory.

Replayability- Every time you play it will be different. Anywhere from the unit you are, who is infected, the locations of the keycards, ect.

Items

Health Kit - This can be used to restore your marine to 100 percent health

Mines - These weapons detonate when an enemy unit approaches.

Radar - You can use your radar to ping the other marines locations.

Antidote - You can use antidotes to cure yourself of poison.

Keycard - Can be used to operate computers or enter rooms.

What i need help with

Ideas for the rooms. I have some rooms that are completely empty, and need to be filled. So far the map looks like this

Basement [Power Room, 2 other rooms already made (no name for them)

Floor 1 [Computer room, Infirmary, Crew Member Rooms, _____]

Floor 2 [Lab 1, Main Lab, Control Room, Captains Quarters, ______ , _____ ]

There are many other rooms, but i have basic ideas for them.

Maybe you could have some rooms with a slight touch of bounding. Also, maybe you could have tome traps that have to be activated by a player. (hit button, traps any one in this area.)

I like some of those ideas. I'll probably add some of them in like the infirmary or the trap room. biggrin.gif thanks.

Also, i'll open up a list for testers later on when the map is about 40% completed. Also, if anybody has any ideas in general about the map i would appreciate that also. smile.gif

There should be part of the ship thats blown up since it did get hit by a meteor. so like for one mission the ship will run out of oxygen because of the damage. you must find the docking room. get some space suits and seal the damaged area so that the oxygen doesnt leak out.

PS. are there any survivors?

Update

-I've added in the blown up part of the ship. And the infirmary.
-Also, i'm making it so if you get attacked by the infected player you will become poisoned. You'll eventually die from the poison unless you use an antidote.
-Terrain 85% Done

Also i have a question. What would you guys rather have, a shuttle for inventory (limited). Or just have it like move unit on to beacon ect. (Unlimited)

shuttles and becons are lame... you should use a gateway system. it is superior because;

1. you see shuttles around you(doesnt add to the realism)
2. you have to scroll over to where the becons are
3. gateways can be hotkeyed
4. there are 4 choices in the gateways.

PS. will i get added into credits -_o?

biggrin.gif Yea you'll be in credits. But if it's a gateway there would be unlimited items, and one player could heal himself forever. Actually, i could make it so you start with a certain amount of minerals, and get to choose what items you want. But when you run out of minerals you're out of items. Do you think that would work?

btw i dont know what you are exactly saying so i will read the posts ontop and repost...

get it gateway with a certain area.. where you use box's for such items... and etc... and if you run out of items in that 1 location gateway cant used..

one word inventory would be a certain place that sounds amount to use is gate way..

give me credit also ill keep posting smile.gif lol

I dont quite get what your saying, but i might have been unclear in my explanation so i'll try and clear it up and add it some information at the same time biggrin.gif

You will have a preset amount of minerals (25)
You will have a gateway which will be used as an inventory.
Zealot [$3] - Health Kit
Dragoon [$4] - Mine
High Templar [$2] - Radar
You can use as many items as long as you dont run out of minerals.

Antidoes will be aquired at the Infirmary, so if you get poisoned you gotta find the infirmary [Not too hard]. And use a antidote.

you know thoes little gas things.. and mineral chunck you can use them as aka item amount.. whenever someone pick up item move them to his inventory where it creates one of thoes..

then he has gateway... when he creates zealot... and controls 1 i donno mineral chuck which is heal kit.. then gets healed smile.gif

Also there should be an elevator. but it wont be up untill you restore power. so to be able to go through differnt levels you must use ladders that take a long time to get from one level to another.

latter.. that takes long time lol a whole line of nothing where you just have to go through... elevator you can have it by moving screen to somewhere else when you enter elevator. and have like a dropship and you drop the unit to which floor you want to move to.. once you drop unit you just auto teleport to that floor...

I'm probobly not going to make ladders because i'm already pretty much finished with the elevators. And there would be no need for a choosing because there's basicly only 3 floors. Floor 1, Basement, And Floor2. And you use stairs to get into the basement rooms. And yeah i'll probobly release a demo thankgiving week sometime around that unless my friends and such take up all my free time. biggrin.gif thanks for the ideas.

UPDATE
-Added in the triggers which determine who is infected. Works, randomly picking one player each time.
-Added in basic triggers for the infected player while he's in his infected form.

Sounds tight, more options make it cooler. Perhaps you could make it so that a computer could be the infected one too, so it wouldn't be sure that it was one of the humans, because when everyone knows it's a human sometimes they just start voting people off. Also maybe make it so that if someone is killed by the infected one they become another infected one? This does sound pretty cool. Also anyone might maybe check out my map Operation AcE?

I don't think it would be possible to make a computer infected just because he wouldnt be able to interact like a human. He wouldn't be able to switch form..use items.. or any of the stuff that i think makes it fun biggrin.gif I was thinking about doing something like that, when you die you turn infected. Instead i made it if you get damaged by the infected person you become poisoned (Still figuring out how to do it, i might be able to use EUD's) and the only way to be healed is with an antidote from the infirmary. biggrin.gif

Hehe, I advertise all I can tongue.gif smile.gif. Well you could have it so that the computer starts out as a higher level infected, and it shifts between infected and normal every 30 seconds or so. You could make it so when it shifted it automatically healed. Slightly rigged for the players, but might be fun if it was like a 1/64 chance of happening, because someone could be playing it for like the 50th time and be like WHOA THE COMPUTER IS IT!! lol. Might make them want to try it again? I mean they wouldn't really need to if they had already played 50+ times tongue.gif.

lol that would be funny. If i do put something like that in i'll do it at the end for touchups or w/e. but anyways guys i still NEED ideas for rooms. And not just the room name i need like what you do in the room. like computer room = access cameras. biggrin.gif Thanks.
