ok well i dont have any of the "crash" the game extra units from starforge, and still my map crashes. It crashes right after i click start in the briefing i dont even get to see the game. It is badlands terrain... ummm.... could putting addons over the water or something of that nature be the culprit?

Could you post the map here? Maybe I or some other good samaritan could take a look at it. Also, it'd be helpful to know which StarEdit hack/program you used to place the hidden/new units/doodads/whatever.

Have you tried the crashlist tutorial, it has a lot of stuff in it that might be crashing your map. The addons on illegal terrain sound slightly suspect to me, although I honestly didn't think it was possible to do that, so I really am not an authority there. As for other ideas, basically just check if units are off the map (theres some bizzare offsetting that occurs with the edges on some editors, check that), if the maps got something that isn't a valid unit in it (hyperunits), also it could be something to do with extended players or sprites, it really could be anything from what you've said.

Its a portrait that you placed in the breifing. I've had that alot and proved that it can be a bad portrait that can crash sc in the briefings pinch.gif

From that, I would assume the briefing works fine, but it crashes before he can get to the actual map. That would be somethign not related to the briefing or triggers unless he holds down Enter and always tries to skip the briefing, and doesn't realize that the briefing is crashing.

I assume though that it's something in the map. He may be using something from the Unused folder, something is off the side of his map (although that's never crashed me), he has a lot of units stacked that don't normally stack, like Marines. Perhaps he has 800 stacked randomly stacked buildings, that can casue problems. He may have too many units on buildings. He may have an invalidly sized map like 125x125, he may have extended units that crash the map. There's too many possibilities, but try deleting a lot of stuff that could be casuing problems and retrying the map (with a back-up copy of course).

if it crashes IN the breifing then that means Portrait Unit Is For All Players (men, buildings etc...)
But If you Press iT Then That Means What Shorty Said But Itz One oF Those

it isnt the briefing, that works fine. It is a SF/ SCM Draft project and that last editor i used was SF. I am gonna look into the 2 many units stacked because that might be a possibility. Would SF's stack helper (right click, stack, enter a number) do it? I stacked depots and pylons for supply using that.
