Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Cloak The Ling
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Oo.Turin.oO on 2005-11-23 at 16:15:54
Okay no matter what i do, my ling won't cloak (with triggers). I used Corbo's list and that didn't work, i've tried my own ways, i've used the hero and regular lings, i've tried different combinations but my zergling will not cloak. (without crashing)

You are doing the
Trigger
Conditions:
¤ Always
Actions:
¤ wait 5 ms
¤ set doodad state: disable doodad state for zergling owned by current player
¤ wait 5 ms
¤ set doodad state: enable doodad state for zergling owned by current player
¤ wait 5 ms
¤ set doodad state: enable doodad state for zergling owned by current player
¤ wait 5 ms

method right? (the waits might not be correct)
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Oo.Turin.oO on 2005-11-23 at 16:27:41
you have to have certain waits? or can they be whatever i want them to be?

Is burrow upgraded for the lings? I'm not sure if that'll make any differenece but it might.

did you see the updated list by me?
its on my sig and in teh tutorials.

do the trigger like urmom did but put the waits with 111 milliseconds.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Oo.Turin.oO on 2005-11-24 at 02:42:11
Wow it really has to be 111...hmm okay ty ill try that tomorrow.

I Didn't Think The Time Mattered, I'll Have To Try That Out Too.

I Got It To Work A Dif. Way, I Don't Remember How Though, , , Lol.

im pretty sure just do

Trigger
Description:
cloaking teh lingz!
Players:
¤ Current Player
Conditions:
¤ Condition
Actions:
¤ Set doodad state disabled for ling
¤ wait 111 ms
¤ set doodad state enabled
¤ wait 111ms
¤ set doodad state enabled
¤ wait 111ms
¤ order Ling "where ever its at" to "a location thats near/whereever"
¤ Then teleport it or do what ever you want to do to it

that should work
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Urmom(U) on 2005-11-24 at 22:13:11
The move and teleport triggers are the same thing. Don't you have to swap the move with order?

your right

i meant order it to move then teleport lol

Well, if you use triggers to do the classic arbiter cloak ling glitch, the lings can get cloaked.

However, you should teleport the arbiter to the unburrowing zerglings instead of ordering it.

There is no one way. And your answer has been said 3 times before by people who actually did the test.

My problem is...i do these things exactly and it still crashes me.

that pissed me the fark off because
1. ive done that trigger plenty of times
i was going to make a map of using that trigger you moron
i use it all the time, it never crashes me
are you sure your not using units that just crash it?
2. maybe you should copy triggers exactly as people who know what they are doing and then maybe read some tutorials..ive seen like 5 lists already/before stating the things you can disable and things you cant and their actions
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Oo.Turin.oO on 2005-11-25 at 21:24:56
thank you for calling me a moron. No i don't place things that crash because if i did then it would crash before i got to look at the map. I AM copying it and it doesn't work which is why i am so ticked off and asking for help. I have done everything that i have been told do to as well as making up my own ways. Every-single-one crashes.

and i meant by people who actually did the test as in, they wrote it.

ADDITION:
By the way. It crashes the second that i hit the disabled part. It doesn't even wait for the rest of the trigger to continue before crashing. Am i not supposed to be able to see it or what? Because, i know there are some units that you can only disable if they are not viewed when they are disabled...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Medieval_Massacre on 2005-11-27 at 17:22:06
you arent supposed to look at it when its being disabled and enabled beacasue that will make you crash. Try looking at a random spot on the map instead of at the part where the ling is.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mp)MinigameEast on 2005-11-27 at 21:59:24
ok put the locations and where ever your doing the disable thing in a corner.
now turn off vision for yourself and make map revealers all over the map and turn on vision for computer and vision yourself to computer.
but don't put a map revealer in the corner or your going to crash.
make sure the area is low ground and wrap around it with high terrain.

you have to add hyper triggers or your going to crash because of the timing.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Oo.Turin.oO on 2005-11-27 at 23:35:28
The fact that im not allowed to see it would have been REALLY helpful. That is obviously my problem.

ADDITION:
Yeah it still didn't work this is the biggest piece of bull s**t i have ever seen.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Joshgt2 on 2005-11-28 at 06:50:19
So can there be a final demonstration of a trigger by someone? I tried this also and I looked at urmom's post but then he forgot something and then he said just to add this to the trigger and ahhh! What is the final trigger? I don't understand how your little list says it minigame, could you put in an example of a trigger next time for all of us visual learning people? lol interested.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mp)MinigameEast on 2005-11-28 at 18:05:27
since number 3 is confusing ill just have to make a link to it instead of using that example.

Trigger
Description:
Number 3 In The Cloak/Disable list
Players:
¤ Player 1-8 (Mainly Yourself)
Conditions:
¤ Current Player Brings At Least 1 Men To Location 1
Actions:
¤ Disable Unit At Location 1
¤ Wait 111
¤ Enable Unit At Location 1
¤ Wait 111
¤ Enable Unit At Location 1
¤ Wait 111
¤ Order Unit To Move From Location 1 To Anywhere
¤ Move Unit From Location 1 To Location 2
¤ Preserve Trigger
¤ Comment "Disable Units (Moveable)"

Example of terrain in the left top corner (must be in any corner or else you map isnt going to look good)

|---------------------| +
|---------------------| +
|---------------------| +
|---------------------| +
|----Location 1----| + -------------------------------Location 2
|---------------------| +
|---------------------| +
|---------------------| +
|---------------------| +
-+++++++++++++

The (+) sign is the high terrain
The (|) sign is the border of low terrain
The (-) sign is low terrain also
location 2 is where you want your cloaked unit to be

the reason it is in the corner becucae if your going to put map revealers all over the map then you can see where you can do this trick.

you must turn off vision for yourself and turn on share vision with a computer.
you must have hyper triggers.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Oo.Turin.oO on 2005-11-28 at 19:35:16
thank you. if it doesn't work now im sueing...lol

ADDITION:
yup it still doesn't work here is the map but i guarantee you can't do it. i did the trigger exactly.

P.S. i see the irony of me making a help map and needing help making it. But if i can't get it, no one in my clan can.

OMG! im so sorry i left out one action.
ok i so and tried your map and tried to set up your way.
i accidently left out another wait 111 between order and move and at the beggining

Trigger

question... Do we have to have the terrain all... high and low and what not? And do we have to turn off shared vision if we go to a part of the map that is black and not able to see?

I can't even get you map to work with adding the wait trigger... I don't get this...
