Hi is the milisecond exactly milisecond?

Becuase 1000 mili sec = 1 sec but doesnt work exactly like that i dont think so atleast..

Btw does hyper trig effect this.

I'm not sure, but I heard that one second is exactly 1024 milliseconds because that number is binary. I dont know what the presence OR absence of hyper trigs will do.

1000 milliseconds is exactly one second, but one second of game time is going to be .7 seconds of realtime if you play on Fastest.

EDIT: In response, seconds aren't binary.

Well scratch the binary idea, but what do you mean realtime? Shouldn't 1 second be what 1 second is real life? If so, what game speed would be "exactly real-time"

i have it so something moves after a min which is 60000 mili sec but it takes a whole lot time then a min. Can anyone answer questoin.

Trigger is like

Current bring atleast 1 any unit to loactoin x

wait 60000 mili sec

order unit at location x to move to location y

something like that but it takes a whole lot longer time then 1min

First, you're sure that you don't have hyper triggers with the player that this 60seconds trigger belongs to.

Second, if you're like using a stopwatch or something, could you give us an estimate of what time your getting. Also, you are running the game on 'Fastest' Speed right?

fastest you mean stopwatch as in a constand timer going on? yes i have that going. And i have hyper trigger
Report, edit, etc...Posted by M_s4 on 2005-11-23 at 19:50:50
Well, if you're getting like 1 minute and 6 seconds, could you like make it 54000milliseconds and see how that works?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by RedNara on 2005-11-23 at 19:55:35
54000 is not 1 min though tongue.gif

1000 = 1 sec

1 sec x 60 = 1 min

1000 x 60 = 60000 dont get what you mean XD

and it was way over 1 min it was more like 3 min.. or more
Report, edit, etc...Posted by M_s4 on 2005-11-23 at 19:58:21
Over 3 minutes? Then I think you have hyper triggers and this 60 seconds triggers belonging to the same player, and that screws it up.

Edit: And I said 54000 because sometimes, SC time has not been so exact for me.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by RedNara on 2005-11-23 at 19:59:21
so your saying hyper trigger screwing it up so i should just remove it for this player.. maybe i should just test it out without hyper lol good idea lol haha

Yes, and if that works, try putting the hyper triggers to an unused player. When you mix hypers and triggers with waits in the same player, you get a bad mess.

honestly i dont trust wait triggers..they screw maps up pretty badly
Report, edit, etc...Posted by M_s4 on 2005-11-23 at 20:09:28
I love wait triggers! Some people are obsessed with these death count timers.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by KaboomHahahein on 2005-11-23 at 20:38:40
Because they are more reliable to get you the correct timing. They are harder to trigger and calculate by comparison to just putting a wait(1000); but they don't stack up and screw up your maps timing.

good point i should of done that... but i have a lot of triggers atm and dont want to change them all. and there not very big stuff also.

I heard that Starcraft time on fastest was 1.5 times faster than normal time.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by M_s4 on 2005-11-23 at 21:36:39
Well, in my maps, I really don't care if my time is "real time". All I care about is if the time in my game works with the gameplay and thats about all that really matters.

Still doesnt work.

What I want is have a unit come to a certain location then wait for a few sec more like a min then move to another location i have about 25 location where they keep moving through. Its a boat its following a path however, at the boat stop they wait for about a min and then keep moving again. But it doesnt work. the Timer is completely off. Anyone know how to fix?

i always hated wait trigger they get to easily buggy seems like your in some deep problem
Report, edit, etc...Posted by M_s4 on 2005-11-23 at 22:35:45
People are saying death count timers are a lot better than wait counters, maybe you could try that. Also, mind posting the map?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by RedNara on 2005-11-23 at 22:46:06
uh well can i ask 1 more thing... See now i put them wait 1 milisec and the one where they suppoes to stop 100 milisec and now they keep moving but dont stop at all.. well 100 milisec is a bit to low ill see what i can do first.. if last comes ill post map tommorow..

if you have a countdown timer it could be interfering with the wait trigger
