Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Players 9-12

The map I'm working has 8 players on it already, and I wanted to use another player to create heros and make them rescuable so they retain their color (I like the effect). I thought you could create, with triggers, units for any player, even 9+, but they dont seem to work at all. I've also tried many combinations of "race" and "controller" of player 9.

Is there a way to make them rescuable, and can you create them with triggers?

P9-P11 are a bit funky, so I almost never use them unless it's for something specific.

You could use P12, which is neutral and the best choice for rescuable units.
To make them rescuable just have a 1x1 or 2x2 location around the unit to be rescued or following the unit to rescue the other unit.

I tried this and similar things but it just doesn't work. I swear I did it a while ago, but it doesn't seem to be working at all. I still can't make them with triggers either. Would players after 12 help at all or is that worse? (I used the AI script make computer player p[assive rescuable or soemthing liek that.)

A lot of things with P9-12 don't work, the only way around it (that I know of at least) is to create the unit for different player, give to player 12 then if you bring a unit to it use the give action, but it won't keep the same colour.

um do the triggers like in pl8 or whoever and just use sf to make it possible to use pl12 as a player

player 12 won't ever do anything thing more than what you tell it to.

Yea, thats what I was really looking for was for it to retain its original color so it looks different from your other units.

Oh yes when you give units to player 12 it keeps its original color and becomes neutral itself, BUT to the respective player it retains its same ally status. for instance, it will not attack you, but you will attack it if the units belonged to one of your enemies.

As far as I know, the only way to control units with different colors is to have one of the players 1-8 set to rescuable and for another one of those players to rescue that unit.

Using players 9-12 WOULD allow rescues if you added triggers, but they would be converted to your color.

oh if your talking about giving units FROM player 12 TO you then yes, the colors change to your color. If you give units FROM yourself TO player 12 then the units keep their colors.
