Staredit Network -> Serious Discussion -> SEN Weekly Opinion Poll IV
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DT_Battlekruser on 2005-11-27 at 17:29:07
Opinion Poll Rules
1. Statements of opinion must be thorough and thought out. Blatant exclamations of "IDIOT!!", for example, will not be tolerated.
2. No flaming people while stating your opinion.
3. A new opinion poll will be posted weekly.

Last Week: A divided opinion was put forth on whether the secular government means refrenences to God should be removed from official documents and sayings.

This Week: I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, Vice President wang Cheney's Chief of Staff was indicted by a federal grad jury late last October for obstruction of justice and perjury. Special Investigator Patrick Fitzgerald is conducting an investigation into the leak of the name of CIA operative Valerie Plame, wife of a U.S. diplomat who spoke out against going to war in Iraq.

Is he guilty as charged?

My Response: Yes. There is far too much evidence of corruption and coverups in the Bush administration for all of this not to lead to obstruction of justice.

Lol, the Vice President's name got censored.

I agree DTBK, there's plenty of evidence that shows he is guilty.

Always wiki whatcha got.

I have a feeling he should get a punishment, but he'll end up getting much lesser one than he deserves.

[center]The whole government is corrupt. Bush is giving jobs to unqualified people just because he knows them personally. Giving your friends jobs they can't handle is bound to get the country in trouble. Anyone involved in US politics should be tried for treason.
I'm not sure if Libby is guilty or not, it seems like a pay off to keep Cheney out of jail.
Yeah, a biased view of the government given by an Anarchist.

They know what they are doing and are qualified for the job. But are they a better choice then other people? Probably not. Also this has been going on for a loonnnggg time.

John Adams stacked the supreme court with federalists before his Presidency was over.

[center]Look at what happened to F.E.M.A. Bush gave the job to one of his friends, who was nowhere near qualified, and what happened? The Katrina responce.
The war in Iraq is making things worse. If you don't support the war you're labeld as an unpatriotic terrorist. No politician is going to want to be unpatriotic, so they're don't speak out about it. Those who do speak out about it are attacked by people with the same views as them, just because they think they're going along with the majority. Stop with the censored.gif ing conformity and think for yourself. I'm getting a bit off topic.

Joseph Wilson spoke out about the war, and what happened to him? His wife's live was put in danger. Her name was released while she was still working under cover for the CIA. Libby has been indicted on obstruction of justice, perjury, and making false statements. Libby lied to the jury and to FBI agents about how/when/to whom he released the name. This guy's guilty enough in my eyes.

Of course, but I don't really agree with the charges, as everyone has obstructed justice at one time or another.

"Everyone" hasn't lied to a grand jury.

It doesn't take a telepath to know that the governement is corrupt, then again, life without government is chaos. Many philosophers predict so as well.

Bush is pretty much corrupting the system as we speak.
I mean, the homeland security, where the heck were they during the Katrina hurricane? Where? Where? Exactly.

I don't trust anything that happens in that big ol office up there. Not one bit.
