Yes you do since doodads load the sprite (RetroGRP edits the sprite) and the terrain under the sprite (reason for TileEdit)

Well, only if the doodad has an overlay... otherwise you can get off completely using TileEdit, since tileEdit will edit the strictly tileset related grps... I suppose I'll level with you in that if I wanted to edit any of the doodads with overlays I would have to edit some other doodad grp I suppose.
