Well, I was spamming testing something in Maps in Production and I found a mineral bug.

Lets say in my first post I spam a whole bunch of stuff. "ZZZZ...." etc, and get 50 minerals.

Then, I edit it so the moderators don't notice and put an actual post.
My minerals drop down to 2, like they should.

Now, being the bad, mineral-seeking person I am ( tongue.gif ), I edit it a 2nd time and BOOM! I gain all the minerals from my original post back! crazy.gif

I wrote it in a way so that...

If you post, you gain whatever.
If you edit or post again w/ additional, it takes the extra characters as a completely new post and recalculates it.

If you edit with a character drop, it calculates it again and subtracts your old mineral gain from this amount. However, there is no randomness when it calculates it again, it will always been the minimum amount of minerals you can recieve.

So...
Orginal post = 6 to 15 minerals -> 12 minerals
Edit with character drop = 5 to 12 minerals
You will get 5 - 12 minerals, or -7 for your edit. A total net gain of 5 minerals.

Now if you add characters, it recalculates it as a new post, say maybe a 0 to 2 gain. So you gain +2.

I'll go through the whole thing again though. But generally, it's bad to continue going through the loop like that.

Making small edits like typo fixes and such probably wouldn't make you loose any of the orginal minerals. Making big edits where you delete big chucks of text won't affect you negatively, it just won't affect you as positively. Anything else affects you positively.
If you do lots of edits where you delete and then re-add stuff, it will affect you negatively.
