Create and destroy kakuras fast enough that you don't see them, but not slow enough that it makes them swish out. Maybe hypers and two others so it goes smoothly?

{Insert Hyper Triggers Here.}

{
Trigger
Description:
Create Teh Rain
Players:
¤ All
Conditions:
¤ Always (Whatever they might be.)
Actions:
¤ Create 15 kakuras at location ""
}

{
Trigger
Description:
Make Teh Rain
Players:
¤ All
Conditions:
¤ ____ Brings at least 1 kakura at location ""
Actions:
¤ Kill all kakura at ""
}

You'd probably say why not Create and destroy in same trigger?
This way you're far less liekly to ever see one pop up before the death animation is played.

If you want added detail you could insert a few EldFire.grp

You can see death animations no matter how quick you Kill them. It's Remove you were thinking of that won't work if you do it consecutive with Create.

Hey Marine. smile.gif

You could try having pre-placed cloaked Carriers there (With a full load of interceptors) and have them shoot at a random unit in the area. The bullets look pretty close to rain, and you can get that 'foggy' effect with the cloaked interceptors flying all over the place.

Uhh the inscriptor is the closest to rain I think but maybe waterfall sprites will work for making rain in your map?

hmm u could try to get a comp to attack another comp with a dt, so they use comsat on it.

I ment kill them just fast enough so you don't see the kakura before you see the death.

Syphon, is it nessecary to quote the FIRST POST? If you are going to create and kill units, please remember to mute the unit speach or something becasue it gets annoying.

attack an opponent with a dark templar to make the comp use the sweep??? I thought that there was a way to use triggers of the AI script to make things like this. I could have sworn that I saw something like this in the tutorials.

Yes, as I like to keep my posts directed at someone in this board.

There is no AI script for scanner sweep, and the tutorial just says what makes the computer use the abilities. For scanner sweep:

QUOTE
- Scanner Sweep -
*Used in response to an attacking cloaked/burrowed unit it can not see
*The unit being attacked must be a terran non hero unit but won't for a SCV, Medic, Science Vessel(blinded), and Dropship
*They will also scan if a bunker loaded when guys is attacked and missle turrets
*Note: The computer will not use it if a ground unit from a lower level is attacking another ground unit up on a higher level

When its the person directly above your post it is assumed it is directed at them if there are any references made.

Some other people tried doing this a while back using cloaked scvs and having cloaked scouts attack them. But they recognized that a problem could be the scvs being in the way because even if they are invisible they are still in the way. But if you could get a scout or carrier to attack some unit on the ground without seeing the ground or air unit/building you would get some awsome rain effects. (Carrier would look a bit odd coming from different angles).

I think that the scanner sweep would be the best... but I thought that there was a AI script for that... I guess not. I have a gut feeling about asking this but what about the ones you can preplace in an advanced editor? Couldn't you make a trigger where it says "Create 1 scanner sweep at location"? I know that this will most likly be no but I am trying to come up with any ideas.

I have a problem using scanner sweep because
#1 it does a little circle in one spot then stops
#2 the effects of scanner sweep (vision and detection) last too long to make the computer keep doing it, therefore you would need a few computer players doing it at regular intervals which would make it look more like a sprinkle rather than a rain.
#3 you would have annoying dts attacking some other unit that you would have to be able to see, you would have the annoying "swishing" sound of the dts blade which i personally have never heard in the middle of a rainstorm.

Here's a reference list. Just do Ctrl+F and type rain and it will bring you to some interesting ones such as marine bullets on burrowed units and protoss shields.

Make like a few cloaked scouts attack a inisble unit on the ground below. But play a rain sound to blur out the attack sound.

is there a way 2 make the computer use a sheild battery recharger??? cause u could have it done on an air unit and just have the bettery's energy constantly set to 100% and the sheilds of the unit set to 0% so that it keeps doinging it. it would not obstruct the walkway and it would look cool.
