I... Don't know what happened.
I have been making a movie/rpg map (havent fully decided yet)
I have tested and played it with many friends but...
now after I fixed it up and added new things...
It now just crashes starcraft right after the breifing screen.
Can anyone help me?? Please..
Oh no... another one of these... Could be ALOT of different things check for some obviuos things:
Invalid maps sizes
Invalid unit
Invalid disabling of doodads
Its just something you did in the last edit that is invalid. Now you have to find it. Makes it easier if you've been saving mutliple copies but it doesn't sound like it. Do you recall the last thing you edited before it crashed?
hmm, a number of reasons, just put into mind wat u were doing before this happened
QUOTE
If your map crashes frequently check these things:
1. High Index colors (Player color) like 145 and 255. Stick with colors 0-17
2. Maps with illegal dimensions
3. Units placed off the edge of the map (buildings)
4. Placing sprites off the edge of the map.
5. Many sprites crash the game.
6. Illegal units may crash the game such as an Independant Command Center.
7. 2x speed tends to crash the map.
8. Showing the portrait for a unit that does not exist. (including mission breifing)
9. Many units crash the game when disabled.
10. Placing a tile index that doesn't exist.
http://www.staredit.net/index.php?tutorial=98LW Edit: I know minerals are beautiful but so are quotes.UH.... I added a location that heals your units...
I think that was the last thing.

...and.. What do you mean disabled doodads? I dont think I did that.. I dont really know how...
Were you using SCM Draft? That save a backup file of your maps sometimes. Try looking for it in there.
Well... I do have another copy of my map, I started with a .scm while the one I was using is now .scx
But I changed it a long time ago... So the first copy is just the bare map outline pretty much...
Post your map if you don't know how to check for those things.
Ok, I found what the problem was and fixed it.
Thanks to all who helped me identify it, It was easy to fix once I found it.

Good job on fixing it

Now your primary objective is to lock this topic.
Time for a crappy ascii arrow pointing to the lock topic moderation option.
