I have a problem with my death counter triggers...

I have it so that when something happens, player 8 (computer player) sets it's marine death to 5, and then I set that this happens to player 1 when player 8 suffers 5 marine deaths:

Display, "You win!"

and it doesn't work. Is it because that the death counter is on another player, so that having a player's death count as another player's condition doesnt work?

EDIT

Also, do death counters work for things such as Zerg Beacons and whatnot, since those can't die?

You can set death counters to whatever you want but its best to set it to NPU (non-playable units) so it doesn't mess up the triggers.

You ARE allowed to have death counter conditions for P8 affect P1 so that's not the problem. Do you have marines in the map? Becuase if there are marines in the map that will affect the death count. Try changing it to independent command centers or floor traps, something that isn't used instead of marines. That should fix the problem.

Oh, apparently I had player 8 set to humans and forgot to change it back... that explained everything.

But what about setting death counters on things like... Zerg Flag Beacon? Do those still work?

Yes, any unit has death counts. (although some require a special editor besides the original to implement)

Ok cool. I'm using x-tra edit, so I guess I have access to all the units.
